ACIM Workbook Lesson 45 – for February 14, 2011
Affirmation: “God is the Mind with which I think.”
“You think with the Mind of God. Therefore you share your thoughts with Him, as He shares His with you. They are the same thoughts, because they are thought by the same Mind. (WB71)”
Often we do not really believe that God and our Minds are the same. Certainly they are not the same when we are trapped by the ego. But the Self that has accepted salvation does indeed think with the Mind of God. And this is our greatest blessing.
God and the Mind are the All. In the Text, we learn that “nothing is outside of you.” This is what we must ultimately learn. This is a metaphysical tenet of ACIM, and one that may be hard to understand and to accept. We are All One.
God wants us to communicate with Him. This is our natural way. In the Text, we learn that God is lonely when the minds He created do not communicate with Him. He knows that we need to awaken. And He will help us to do so. That is our primary business on this earth. That is why we are here. And study of the Course is one way that we can hasten our time of Awakening. Many years are saved by us (the Text says 1,000 years) when we proceed on the right pathway (an ACIM tenet).
Prayer:
Dear Father/Mother,
I need You today. For some reason not all days are equally good. Today I ask that the Mind that is in me be the Mind that is in You. You have told me that this is true all the time, but I do not always remember this truth.
I would commune with You today. Jesus asks us to do so, saying that it is an unnatural thing not to communicate with our Creator. I promise to do my part in reaching inward to You today. Please let me feel Your presence.
