Affirmation: “I walk with God in perfect holiness.”
“There is a light in you which cannot die, whose presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of you. All things that live bring gifts to you, and offer them in gratitude and gladness at your feet. The scent of flowers is their gift to you. The waves bow down before you, and the trees extend their arms to shield you from the heat, and lay their leaves before you on the ground that you may walk in softness, while the wind sinks to a whisper round your holy head. (WB294)”
Reflections:
A beautiful passage, it means to help us to understand how very much God loves us. We are protected in our journey through life. We may not always touch His blessings for us, we may feel alone and unprotected, but if we cling to promises such as this, we will know the true will of God. His true will is that His children be loved and make a way of smoothness in this world. Struggle does hone us, but struggle is not meant to defeat us. We are shielded from the heat (see passage).
We do have this light within us. It may not always be obvious, but it is here in all of us–not just those who are walking the way of God. We are all brothers and sisters–all One with God.
When times are tough, it would be good to remember our protection (an ACIM tenet). Jesus promises to walk with us, and he also promises that we have other Mighty Companions with us. He says that if we knew who walked with us, we could never be afraid again. Let us remember our protection today.
Prayer:
Dear Father/Mother,
I promise to You that I will remember Your protection of me today. I will not cringe in fear about anything. I will be confident in walking through this world. All of this is possible if I stay close in mind and spirit with You. Help me to do this today.
Thank You for offering beautiful words to me. They are a great comfort, and I thank You for opening my mind and spirit to their beauty.
