The Thought of God Protects You

ACIM Workbook Lesson 165 – for Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Affirmation:  “Let not my mind deny the Thought of God.”

“The Thought of God protects you, cares for you, makes soft your resting place and smooth your way, lighting your mind with happiness and love.  Eternity and everlasting life shine in your mind, because the Thought of God has left you not, and still abides with you.  (WB313)”

Reflections:

When we truly “think” of God, we are safe and nothing can hurt us.  Of course, the physical and emotional little self can be hurt, but we are concerned with the higher Self, which knows no hurt.  Our resting place is soft and our way is smooth.  What a glorious promise!

God has never forgotten His children, of which we are One with Him.  His Thought has not left us, though it may have been forgotten for awhile.  We would remember today.  We would let yesterday be the last day that we forgot the Thought of God.

Our minds are frequently trapped by egoistic thinking, and this denies the Thought of God.  May we ask today to be free of egoistic thinking.  And may we walk into the sunlight with Christ.

Prayer:

Dear Father/Mother,

It is a bit hard for me to wrap my little mind around the large concept of the Thought of You.  Help me today, to understand more fully, and to live with Your Thought more fully–even when my little mind cannot comprehend all of Your glory.  The Thought of you does not dwell where my mind does, for my mind is frequently distracted, still, by thought generated by the ego.  Help me to reach beyond such petty distractions, and to come today into the presence of Your Thought.

Thank You for the unfolding of Your grace.  I feel Your guiding Hand in my better moments.  Thank You for not withdrawing for me; thank You for allowing me to feel Your presence in my innermost being.

Amen.
