Affirmation: “Your grace is given me. I claim it now.”
“Today we ask of God the gift He has most carefully preserved within our hearts, waiting to be acknowledged. This the gift by which God leans to us and lifts us up, taking salvation’s final step Himself. All steps but this we learn, instructed by His Voice. But finally He comes Himself, and takes us in His Arms and sweeps away the cobwebs of our sleep. His gift of grace is more than just an answer. It restores all memories the sleeping mind forgot; all certainty of what Love’s meaning is. (WB321)”
Reflections:
This passage is the most beautiful rendition of what Awakening means in A Course in Miracles. It makes clear that it is God Himself Who decides when our time is right, when we are ready for salvation’s ultimate blessing.
The steps to Awakening are learned by many through ACIM. Here Jesus is explaining the means to us; revelation may occasionally reveal the end, and when it does, the experience is glorious indeed. But not lasting. Awakening, when it occurs genuinely and by God, is lasting. Not many have on this earth experienced Awakening, but the numbers are growing.
May we pray today to have God act sooner rather than later. May we study ACIM well, that we might be ready for that surprising and glorious moment, taken toward us by God Himself.
Prayer:
Dear Father/Mother,
I adore this lovely message from You. It is a glorious promise, for which all of us will be grateful. May all of us experience the Awakening sooner rather than later, and may we thank You in advance for making us ready to receive this revelation as permanent.
Be with us today as we walk the pathway that You intend for us. We will awaken, as You have promised, but we must be satisfied to walk the pathway with You until You deem that we are ready. May we soon be ready.
Amen.
