Fear Appears in Many Forms, but Love Is One

ACIM Workbook Lesson 295 – for Saturday, October 22, 2011

Affirmation:  “The Holy Spirit looks through me today.”

“Redemption must be one.  As I am saved, the world is saved with me.  For all of us must be redeemed together.  Fear appears in many different forms, but love is one.  (WB446)”

Reflections:

1 – We Must All Be at Home in God

We will not be free of this world until all others have reached to the God within.  We are One, and this is as it should be.  Early psychic writers have said the same thing, notably Ruth Montgomery, who channeled “Guides.”  We are pulled backward by our brothers and sisters until we walk along beside them, and take steps in tandem.  Jesus says in A Course in Miracles that we sometimes think that we will walk a little ahead, or a little behind, but then he indicates that this is faulty thinking.  We can proceed if we alter our stride in this manner.  We take our brother or sister by the hand, and together in happiness we walk to God.

2 – We Are All One

When we love others, we are loving because we know that we are all one.  We do not truly love until we realize this (an interpretation, not stated in ACIM).

3 – We Are Here for Salvation

We are here for salvation, forgiveness, happiness.  And salvation and redemption are close in meaning.  Let us ask for our redemption today.

Prayer:

Dear Father/Mother,

I would do what I can to bring others to You today.  But I would not impose myself or my beliefs on my brothers and sisters.  Help me to know when to speak and when to be silent.  Help me to know who is ready to hear any words that I might say about You and salvation.

May all of us find You sooner rather than later.  This world knows much suffering, and we all need to find healing.  Help me to fully realize that the Answer to healing lies in what the mind thinks, not what the body does.  May You rest gently in my mind and bring it home to You.

Thank You for granting me the warmth of Your companionship today.  May I share that warmth with the significant others whom I see or touch today.

Amen.
