ACIM Workbook Lesson 303 – for Sunday, October 30, 2011
Affirmation: “The holy Christ is born in me today.”
“Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home. And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father’s Love. Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today. (WB451)”
1 – What It Means for Christ to Be Born in Me
When Christ is born again in us, we are living the Self that is our real Self. We are no longer the little self (as I have called it), the egoic self. May we take this step into the sunlight today.
2 – Welcome the Self and Know Peace
If we welcome the Christ, the Self that we really are, we will know peace. We will no longer be followed about by dreams, illusions, of disaster. Even if bad things happen (and they may, though they are less likely), then we will rise above, with the help of the Holy Spirit. We create our own reality, and we will not miscreate anymore. We will know how to live well, and we will not dwell on mistakes and misdeeds. We will forgive ourselves and others, and then we will create aright in our little world. Joy follows inexorably.
3 – We Create Our Own Reality
Jane Roberts, in the “Seth” (an entity she channeled) books, often said that we “create our own reality.” Jesus says the same in ACIM. And that reality will be good if we learn how to think with God. We do not have to suffer in silence. We do not have to suffer at all (though we may, for we are fallible). When we dream the happy dreams the Holy Spirit brings (from the Workbook), we are being prepared for the real world, which sees only good. Mother Teresa wrote about seeing “Jesus in all his distressing disguises.” She certainly saw much suffering in her life, even in her own life. But she kept the faith. And Jesus would ask us to do the same.
Prayer:
Dear Father/Mother,
Help me to understand my Self, Who is Meant by the Christ. These final thoughts in the Workbook are puzzling, and I need Your help not to let the ego intrude. None of us has anything that everyone else does not have. We are all One. Help me to know that to say that Christ is born in me is not an egoic statement.
Be with us today as we seek to create the reality in which we live. May that real world be inhabited by each of us for longer and longer periods of time. We need to let this illusory world fall from our sight and be replaced with a seeing that is almost incomprehensible to us now. May we look only with love, and may we have the vision that You would have us understand.
Amen.
