“While you look for a God with a physical form you will not recognize God. Everything real is of God. Nothing unreal exists. Each person passing from this life to the next learns no great secret. They simply realize love is all there is. Nothing unreal exists. Think for yourself: If you were going to die tomorrow what would you today find meaningful? Only love. This is salvation’s key.” (ACOL, C:2.2)
When we decide to look on all with the single emotion of love, we have salvation’s key.
We may think that this is impossible. But if we love the bad as well as the good, we transmute the bad into the good. We don’t suppress the bad so that it rises another day to frighten us. We integrate, and therefore overcome, the bad with the light of our better nature.
Everything real is of God, and nothing unreal exists. And so our ego gets out of the way when we become inclined to the real, the things of God. We don’t learn anything more very much when we die from this world. We do simply realize that love is all there is. And we will realize this now if we consider the possibility that we might die tomorrow. What would be important today? Only love. Think about that. Only love. We want to hold our loved ones close to us at the end. And we are seeing something then that we have overlooked heretofore.
Why not hold our loved ones close to us now, right now? There is no better way to spend the day, in thought if not in proximity.
Most of us do have to get out of bed, get dressed, go to work, whether at home or away. But we don’t have to forget what is important.
I always love your posts! They are often the first thing I read in the morning.
A really beautiful and helpful Post Celia. Thankyou.
