“The first transition, as you have probably already realized, is about a letting-go of any of the ideas that you may still have that an outside source exists. There is no such thing as an outside source. There are no outside sources of wisdom, guidance, or even information.” (ACOL, D:Day21.1)
Jesus’s assertion in the passage for today is very startling, but also very empowering. We have only ourselves—and our God—to consult for true advice. Depending on other sources has never been very satisfactory, for another’s answer was never certain to be ours. And now we know that we are living in the right time, the time of Christ, and living with the right demeanor, Christ-consciousness, to turn to our Self for the Answer. And our Self includes God.
So: No outside sources at all are to sway us. We will have to be diligent, for many of us have relied on others to show the way. Of course, we can still get advice, but we are certainly not to follow that advice unless it resonates with something deep within ourselves.
This is very freeing. This will work. Take a moment now to ask about anything and everything that have been bothering us. Just ask. We will receive an Answer, and from the only Source Who counts—the Self Whom we are deep within.
I would start depending on my Self for the answers of how to live my life. Of course, I have already done this to a degree, but now I would make a radical departure from my previous life, and listen to the guidance that comes naturally from my inner Christ-Self. The only One Who matters.
Be with me as I make this adjustment. Be with me always.
