Self-guidance

“Self-guidance is the propulsion, the fuel, for the One Self to know itself. You are ready to be so known.” (ACOL, D:Day26.8)

Have not we often heard the admonition, “Know Thyself”? This is indeed good advice, but prior to now, in our journey with A Course in Miracles and A Course of Love, knowing ourselves has not really been an option. When we were ego-bound, we were lost in confusion and in dramatic highs and lows. This makes sense, because the ego is abject insanity.

But now, finally, we can know ourselves. We will be getting our guidance from the newly known Self who has emerged from our depths. We will listen, quietly, to promptings that are gentle and easy. This self-guidance is new to us, or so we think. The Holy Spirit and His guidance seemed, sometimes, to be outside of ourselves, a prompting from somewhere else (though it really wasn’t, because the Holy Spirit dwells deep within with God).

We are ready to know our Self. We have journeyed long and hard for this moment. Let us take advantage of it.

When we follow the gentle promptings of the Self, we see circumstances play out that solidify, in our minds and hearts, what we ourselves are all about. We are living out the Self in the outside world. And the inner has created the outer. We are living the truth for the first time.

We are coming home.

Dear God,

I would listen to the guidance that comes from my depths today. This is my Self, speaking to me. It is a welcome change in the way in which I receive promptings of what to say, do, and even think. It is the way of the future, the gentle way of the future. If the promptings seem hard to read, it is because I am not quiet enough.

Help me to keep a quiet interior today.

Thank You.

Amen.

I take “know thyself” as did Siddhartha to mean literally understanding the impermanent nature of the life within you. This self-knowledge is what inspires the derivation of the Tree of Life wisdom that entitles you to the Garden of Eden emotional bliss. It’s through miscued conditioning that people don’t understand the relational truths that set the principles that rule the outcomes of all behaviors … and they suffer. This nutshell is cracked open in my blogsite… and thank you for following it yesterday… Dave
