Special Agents

“You do have special talents which are needed for the celestial speed-up at this time. But note that the term ‘speed-up’ is not one which relates to the transcending of time. When time is abolished and all the Sons of God have come home, no special agents will be necessary. But do not underestimate the power of special agents now, or the great need there is for them. I do not claim to be more than that myself. No one in his right mind (a term which should be specially noted) ever wants either more or less than that.” (ACIM, COA ed., T-1.48.6:1-6)

Most of us must be “special agents.” If we are on the spiritual pathway, it is a foregone conclusion that we are indeed. And Jesus needs us all, for the salvation of the world.

First, we have to get our own lives working, though this is more of a hope than an accomplished fact. Jesus has used many people over the ages who had great limitations and many struggles. This in itself does not mean that we can’t claim “special agent” status.

St. Paul himself had a “thorn in his side.” Nobody has ever known conclusively what this meant. But look at all he accomplished in spite of that thorn, a thorn he asked to have removed, a request that was not granted.

Despite limitations, we must forge on ahead. And the “special agent” status, we hasten to add, is not a matter of ego. We each have callings in this world, and we will be happy, contented, only when we answer.

Let us answer today. Ask to be shown what God (and Jesus) have in mind for us. We will be shown.

  1. Ah! The asking about ourselves and receiving part reminded me of a video a woman of God put together, where she had a conversation with the Lord and noted what she had heard from Him.

    One excerpt:
“My people, there is no greater work than coming to know yourself. Aside from coming to know Me. From birth onward, you are conditioned by the words of those who care–or care not–for you. Parents are feeding their children much of their own viewpoint of the world. They project upon their children the very things they hoped and dreamt they could be; or their negative, failure-influenced view of the world and of you.”
