You must make the decision to desire—above all things—awakening into perfect remembrance of your union with God. (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Chapter 4, Page 42)
In an excellent metaphor, Jesus likens us, as individual entities, to waves that have emerged from the depth of the ocean. The ocean is the All Who is God. He asks to identify with God, with the ocean and its depths. We do have uniqueness as waves, and our uniqueness is celebrated in The Way of the Heart. This will sit well with all of us as we emerge from the ego.
We like our individuality, as it is part of what we are, what we embody. In this, we are affirming the magnificence of God’s plan to differentiate, or individuate, all of us as entities that operate, often, seemingly on our own. He will use the inner Being to direct our pathways, though. This inner Being is called the Holy Spirit by A Course in Miracles and the Christ-Self in A Course of Love. It is simply recognized as our inner self by The Way of Mastery.
This analogy, of us and the ocean and its waves, from The Way of the Heart is especially apt and also especially beautiful. The imagery is superb. Jesus knows how to communicate with us, to reach our heart.

This is such a great Message, Celia!
I remember taking an advanced nursing class, and in the first chapter of this huge thick text book it said that nursing was holistic. Nursing, specifically, is allowed [and it is expected] to consider the Whole Person. To be holistic in nursing is this. Nurses are trained to care for humans and only humans.
Nursing is a…formal and “Standardized” way of looking at people in a very particular way in order to assess both subjective and objective observations, plan and set goals and then evaluate outcomes…and keep adjusting – documenting the whole process.
What is ironic is that as a nurse goes through this process in time and gaining experience, the dedicated nurse very quickly realizes that, despite the standard, human beings are complicated in how they present within the scope. Humans don’t go outside of the scope of what they are…humans can be nothing more than humans, but within that scope THERE IS A LOT of diversity. And it evolves.
In principle, nursing very much reflects what you present. Outside of “Nursing,”…there is SO MUCH to work with. In that ocean, Celia…within waves, there are drops…but of the whole…of what is holistic of the Ocean…UNFATHOMABLE,
And so we do need a guide; a spirit that is connected to it, for we are so lost without it..

I love the ocean so these provides a wonderful image for me. I especially love seeing the waves crest and hearing them crash. That is how my journey with the Lord has been, ebbs & flow as the waves. So beautiful!

I wholeheartedly resonate with this. It wasn’t until I awakened, out of my ego based fear, that my choices were always out of love or if I was a tad confused, I asked my intuition what was my highest good? The answers always came through easily. LOVE. I believe that, in it’s totality is Christ’s message – love.
