The Divine Is Living through Us in Each Moment

“So what do you want? . . . Peace or the ability to simply drug yourself with triviality? Imagine. . .all power under Heaven and Earth flowing through you with every breath. . .the divine is [living]. . . through you in each moment. And you get to marvel at the creativity of Love, the very same Love that moves the sun and the moon and the stars. Now that is a delightful pastime!” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 7, Page 88)

Sometimes we need to think of happy things, and the quotation for today leads us in this direction. To “marvel at the creativity of Love”! Yes!

We often try to distract ourselves when we are hurting, but distraction is not always the best way to spend our time. We don’t need to “drug” ourselves with “triviality.” The Divine is living through us every minute, something that we don’t often consider. I do sometimes say that I want to give my “goddess” a good day. And then it seems that my mood lifts. The Deity has no gender, but He/She is deep within each of us, and that Deity influences our every move as the “gods” and “goddesses” that we are, the Self personified.

This is not an appeal to the ego. A Course of Love says that as we travel along the pathway back to God, the ego “is gone.” When we have made a concerted effort over the years to avoid egotism, then we need to rest in God’s grace, believing—and knowing—that he has heard our prayer to relinquish the ego.

Yes, “all power under Heaven and Earth” is “flowing through” us “with every breath.” We have enough to think about today if we just remember that.

God lives through us. Do we not want to give Him a good day?
