I, Alone, Am the Literal Creator of My Moment-to-Moment Experience

“If you would choose to awaken wholly, if you would choose not just to be a wave that has mysteriously arisen from the ocean, if you would choose to be more than just another soul that has arisen from the Mind of God and is, somehow, crashing about through the universe, it is absolutely necessary to own, as your own, the pebble that drops into the still, clear pool of your awareness with the thought:

“I am the one who chooses the effects I experience.

“I, alone, interpret all neutral relationships or experiences.

“I, alone, place the value upon objects, things, thoughts, and belief systems.

“I, alone, am the literal creator of my moment-to-moment experience.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 8, Page 97)

We are the creators of our experience, though I believe this is often on an unconscious level, with the inner Christ-Self calling the shots. Surely we don’t knowingly bring bad things to ourselves, and something bad things happen. This is one of the puzzles of the universe. But we need not blame God; indeed, we must not blame God. I believe He is a God of love, just like Jesus has been saying. We can’t always recognize Love, even when it in right before our eyes, hits us in the face.

“I am the one who chooses the effects I experience.” Yes! We can believe this, because we know that our attitude toward the happenings in our lives makes all the difference. This is a “creating our own reality” that we can understand, not a puzzle of the universe at all.

“I, alone, am the literal creator of my moment-to-moment experience.” Yes, we are, even when bad things happen. We don’t understand, can’t understand in this world. But I think we will understand in the next.

In the meantime, our lives on earth, let us place no blame, and blame no victims. We don’t know what the soul of anybody is really trying to do, and the soul is that all-embracing Self of Whom the inner Christ-Self is a part.
