We don’t have to fulfill a self-described image of what we want to be, a self-image. Images are often ego-originating, and false to the core. Instead, we simply need to focus on what we know of love, to fulfill a vision of someone who loves.
This cannot be hard, though our real Self has been covered over by egoic notions for a long time. Yet, even in the midst of folly, all of us have known love, from someone or something. We first receive love from God, and this first receipt from Him enables us to be able to give. If we had not first received, we would simply be unable to heal the separation, something that God Himself longs to see.
Simplify life today. Know that when all is said and done, we don’t want more honors, more promotions, more achievements. When life is ending for us, we will never say that we wish we had spent more time at the office. We will say that we wish we had loved better.
Begin today to rectify gaps in our experience of love. Pray to be brought closer to true reality, which at base is nothing if it is not love.
