Just “being” in life is affirming and good. I don’t have to “do” all the time. I have to realize that doing “more, more, more” to justify my existence is not necessary.
Postscript 2023:
How many of us want to “do” to prove that we are somehow worthy to occupy space on this Earth ? I suspect that this dynamic is ego-driven, and we all know that the ego is a failed experiment.
Just “being” can feel like being lazy or unproductive. And I was raised to “work hard”. I thought I needed to “achieve”. But I have come to understand that just BEING is where the Divine dwells. It is not some future goal – but in the NOW. We humans make everything harder than it needs to be.
Yes, my dear Linda. I can understand you well. Many of us had the same rearing, and we did achieve as a result. But we also suffered in the achievements. “Being” is more conducive to a peaceful spirit. And we do still get things done. Love, Celia
