Trust the Momentum that Seems to Be Shaping Your Life

“Above all, beloved friends, remember:  there are no mistakes!  You are free to trust the momentum that seems to be shaping your life.  For you are the one who has complied with it by inviting the Holy Spirit to take you home.  You are the one that has prayed for acceleration.  Therefore, also be the one who accepts the grace being offered unto you.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery,  Chapter 21, Page 260)

It is a startling idea that there are no mistakes! Even the “tiny, mad idea” that started us on the road to separation from God was not a “mistake,” per se. God let us go when we were lost in adolescent rebellion.

And now He is welcoming us home, again at our bidding. When things seem rough, realize that this is “acceleration,” guided by the Holy Spirit.

We need to remain compliant, flexible, in the hands of the Holy Spirit. Further rebellion will be counter-productive. Drop any rebellion, and decide today to come home to God, to be home in God.

Resistance

“All suffering is the resistance of reality.  All awakening and healing is the letting go of resistance.  Forgiveness.  Allowance.”(“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery,  Chapter 21, Page 259)

What we resist becomes stronger, and when we resist pain, turning it in suffering, we are on the wrong track.

Acceptance is the way for suffering to be eased, though this is  a hard teaching to wrap our minds/hearts around.  But healing is in its wings.  A healing of emotions, perhaps, or maybe a healing of the physical pain as well.

God will answer.  Remember that the pain is at least partly mental, and this mental healing is what will transpire first.  Then ideas will come about healing the physical pain as well.

Relax into the pain.  Let it come.  This is true allowance.

Blessing in Uncomfortable Situations

“Eventually, the soul that is truly committed to awakening does not flee uncomfortable situations until it believes it has fully extracted all the wisdom that it can. . .In short, when there is just a quiet sense of peace, and you can look upon the players in the experiences you have had with perfect equanimity and see them as perfectly innocent, and you detect that there is nothing in the body that is not at peace—the heart is not racing, the shoulders are not tight—you truly understand that you are not in fear, then it is time to move on.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery, Chapter 17, Page 213)

If we are in an uncomfortable situation, this passage says that we ought to just stay there—not try to distract ourselves, not try to flee or to escape—for this uncomfortable situation has something to teach us.  Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, if the uncomfortable situation is truly dangerous, we ought to remove ourselves from it.

But if the uncomfortable situation is not dangerous, but merely uncomfortable, we ought to ask “Why?”  Why do we feel uncomfortable, perhaps anxious, perhaps fearful?  Be very honest with ourselves about this.

If we can extract the kernel of truth in what is transpiring before us, we will have made great strides toward awakening.  And awakening is where we all want to head.  Reread the last part of the quotation, and see when we have indeed extracted all the good from the uncomfortable situation that we can.  We are no longer blaming anyone, but seeing innocence in their words or actions.  They too are doing the best that they can.

When we have let the fear of the uncomfortable situation go, then we have done all we can to make another giant step toward awakening.  Our heart is not racing, our shoulders are not tight.  And we are at peace.

This is evidence that one more difficult spot in our subconscious has been healed.

Fill Our Heart with Love

“The screams of the world, those echoes of the past that you still hear, are telling you in thousands of different ways:  Brother, do not deny me love.”  Choose Only Love:  Let Yourself Be Loved (COL bk.2, 14:II)

We do hear screams in the world right now, echoes of a past that was filled with anguish.  Perhaps we know that today is filled with anguish also.

But there is an Answer, and it is the age-old response to worry and fretting—just fill our heart with love, and spread that love out on the world that we see.

If we love enough, there will be absolutely no space for fear and judgment.  According to A Course of Love, fear and judgment are the two impediments to Christ-consciousness.

We need to move into the next dimension of Christ-consciousness.  This will happen when we are so filled with love that anxieties have taken a back seat.

Yes, as hackneyed as it sounds, Love really IS the overwhelming Answer.  The screams of the world recede into nothingness when we are able to sense God’s Love for us.

He is ready and willing.  Are we?

Sense the Love of Our Hearts

“Let yourself be carried away by love and you will feel safe.”  Choose Only Love:  Let Yourself Be Loved (COL bk.2, 13:IV)

Who among us does not want safety?  Who among us does not want to feel safe?

These are the same questions.  And the Answer is the one that we have heard all of our lives:  just to love.  Let us be “carried away” by love.

The Way of Mastery, another received work, this one from Jesus, says that if we were told that scientists had discovered something new in the universe, never before known, and if it were called some exotic name, we would be more likely to listen than when we say that that this something new is love.  It is new because love has never been tried on a large scale.  We have loved in our families, perhaps, though this love has often been conditional and therefore imperfect.  We have loved our significant others, though often we have special relationships that do not become holy, and therefore fail us in the long run.  We have loved our friends, but often this too is fickle.  Whatever are we to do?

For love to work for us, we must sense love in our hearts.  This is the only way.  When we are enthralled by love in our hearts, we will know, finally, that we are safe in this earth.  Even in this earth that is fraught with dangers.

Safety is not always a physical thing.  But it can always be a “feeling” thing.

Our hearts know the Answer, the Answer to one of our greatest needs—to know that we are safe in the arms of God.

Erase the Lines & Draw Differently

“The very same being could say, ‘I am much too grand to swim in a pool.  I believe I’ll put the little body on an airplane and fly to the grand ocean, to swim in the midst, unbounded by a box.’  The experience of that swimming is much different.

“Your consciousness is exactly like that.  All that you experience from the moment you awake I the morning until you awaken in the morning again (because there is no down time)—everything you see, everything you experience—is the direct result of where and how you have drawn the lines on the blank canvas of consciousness.  And you are free at any time to erase them and draw differently.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 164)

We are in the midst of passages from The Way of Mastery that encourage us to be limitless.  We have so often, out of fear and anxieties, placed ourselves in boxes, and then closed the lids.

We don’t have to do this anymore.  Even if we are quarantined from the coronavirus, our spirit can be free, and this free spirit makes for a limitless experience for us.  The mind is its own place, as Milton told us in Paradise Lost.  We can open ourselves up, but the only way that I know to do that is to love, and love mightily.  Fear contracts our experience, for we are afraid of the pain and suffering that fear brings to us.

Let love overwhelm us today.  Let Love, God Himself, overwhelm us every day.

To Live without Limits

“Here is the nub:  No one can make the decision for you.  I have never enlightened anyone.  I have never even so much as lifted them an inch.  I have merely chosen to demonstrate unlimitedness for myself. . . .” (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 163)

Jesus can’t do it for us; he says so, here.  We can’t get a transformative experience for Awakening or enlightenment by looking to somebody else, even one such as Jesus.  What do we have to do?  What we can do is remove the blocks to our awareness of love, and these blocks are fear and judgment.  Love is the Answer, always and forever, but these things, fear and judgment, that stand prevent us from loving well have to go.

Jesus demonstrates unlimitedness as a divine being.  We can ask for unlimitedness in ourselves, ask it of God, and we may very well get an affirmative response from Him.  We may very well find ourselves thinking, saying, and doing things that have eluded us until now.  We reach skyward in our unlimitedness.  And we find that we are not alone in this desire for ourselves.  God wants us to live in an expanded way, too.

We are unlimited, though we think that our finite minds hold us back.  It is true that with our finite minds, we don’t know everything.  We don’t know all the glories of the Kingdom and the universe(s).  But we can still enjoy magnitude.  Our Self is a glorious rendition of God’s way with us.  He is holding nothing back.  We are the ones who restrain ourselves.  And we have it in our power to change that restraint.

Just ask, and see if we aren’t able to see an expanded role in our service to the world.

The Unlimited One – Us

“Whether it is a beautiful building or a beautiful painting, all that you are ever experiencing is something that you have drawn to yourself through the medium of the body.  It is an experience, and that is all.  You are the unlimited one who is in the driver’s seat.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 162)

How many of us can actually feel in the driver’s seat, especially now?  Jesus’ words sound foreign to us, but I believe he means what he says.  But it is our soul that is making these decisions of what to experience.

The little self, persona, that we are frequently resists what arrives for us to experience.  We can be glad that a “smarter” part of ourselves is actually in the driver’s seat.  This is the Self, Self with a capital “S.”  And we are all One in the Self, a part of God Himself.

It helps to see ourselves, in our greater essence, as “unlimited.”  If we chafe at restrictions now, we can realize that our soul has chosen this pathway—not only our soul, but the Self whom we share with all other brothers and sisters.  We are in this together.

Happiness in the Midst of Adversity

“You are the one who can bless creation.  It begins when you are willing to assume responsibility for what you want to use time for.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 161)

In The Way of Mastery, Jesus says quite a lot about assuming responsibility for ourselves.  We so often want to think of ourselves as victims, when just picking up the phone and opening up lines of communication might be all that is lacking.  As the Don Miguel Ruiz’s Four Agreements says, we need to ask questions when we are unsure.  We don’t need to make assumptions that are possibly wrong; in fact, we don’t need to make assumptions at all.

We have a responsibility to use time well.  What do we have to lose but a poor self-image?  Using time well will give us a good experience of life.  And when we enjoy our days, we are blessing creation.

Let today be different from the past by letting go of the past and clinging to the Now, as Eckhart Tolle says in The Power of Now.

We can be happy, even in the midst of adverse circumstances such as we have now in our world—isolation, quarantine, coronavirus.  If we aren’t sure what we can do to be happy, then an Answer is only a heartfelt question away.

Commit to Awakening

“The Way of Transformation is much simpler than you think.  But again, it rests on your decision to use time to be wholly committed to awakening from the narrow constraints you have placed upon your vast field of consciousness.  For no other reason than that it might be rather entertaining to allow this tiny little ray to continue in space and time for a while, while being aware of the totality of your Self and actually operating from that totality.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 160)

This quotation suggests that we have something to do with the timing of our Awakening.  God makes the decision, as A Course in Miracles tells us.  But we must remove the blocks to the awareness of love, the blocks of fear and judgment, as A Course of Love tells us.  This quotation, from The Way of Mastery, seems to say that if we let our consciousness expand, removing the constraints we have placed on it, we will make progress toward Awakening.  We might stay on this earth, in space and time, but we would draw on the larger Self who is beyond our little persona/personality.  This larger Self is merged not only with God, but with other people, too.  Our brothers and sisters are in this with us.

These thoughts demand some concentration.  If we can walk peacefully to a transformation, an Awakening or Christ-consciousness or enlightenment, we will be walking toward the goal of The Way of Mastery.  This is the next step in our evolution.  We need to take this next step.

Our world needs a comprehensive reawakening.  Let us focus on staying calm (no fears) and giving everyone some slack (being non-judgmental).  If we can do that much, we will have made progress that we may not even comprehend until the moment that we sense God’s presence in lifting us up into Awakening.

Looking to the Light of Our Soul, Pure Spirit

“Now, think about this.  If you feel constrained in this dimension, it does not mean that you are constrained.  It simply means that one tiny ray of your light is temporarily having a certain kind of experience.  If you trace that ray of light back to its Source, you find something brighter than ten thousand of your suns, something far more vast than the sun that lights your physical universe, something so vast that out of it has come forth a multitude of universes!

“That light of your soul, pure Spirit, remains undefiled and unlimited.  That tiny ray can become aware of the whole, and that is the process of awakening.  It doesn’t really change anything at all, since you begin to become identified, not with the tiny little ray that is having a temporary experience, but that field out of which the very power to experience the space-time dimension is coming forth.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 159 – 160)

All of us certainly do feel constrained now, with isolation in our homes mandatory because of the coronavirus.  This means, as Jesus says, that “one tiny ray of. . .[our] light is temporarily having a certain kind of experience.”  Our Self is not affected by temporary conditions.  Our “light. . .pure Spirit, remains undefiled and unlimited.”

I am just going through The Way of Mastery’s second book, The Way of Transformation, page by page with quotations meaningful to me.  But this one day, which just came in order, seems very appropriate to our situation.

Let us realize that only one bit of ourselves is having to experience this quarantine.  The glorious Self is free of constraints.  And it is to this glorious Self that we can look.  Our Self is much better and bigger than the persona that we have while living now on earth.

Let us ask the Self for the wherewithal to live with acceptance, making the best of a different sort of life—what we have to do for a while.

Limitless Reality

“You are in the holiest of temples—your Self.  You abide in the perfect moment for your transformation.  Nothing limits you at all, or at any time. . . . In reality, nothing is impossible to you and nothing unavailable to you.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 159)

This is the perfection of the moment, as expressed by Jesus in channeled writings.  Where we are today seems very far from this pinnacle.  This pinnacle is the ideal.  The extent to which we can stretch ourselves to reach it is the extent to which we will have peace.

Our Self extends beyond just the body.  Our Self is one with God, the All, the Whole.  That is why it is the “holiest of temples.”  That is why we are limitless. Of course, we can’t see this, because our mind is finite.  In our greater essence, though, what Jesus says is true.  He is not speaking of the persona that we have in this world, but speaking for the larger dimension of which we are a part.

We can learn things from that larger dimension.  Things that will bless us.  Reach out today to our greater Self, and see if the day does not brighten.  There is always help on the way when we allow our sights to look skyward.

Ask Jesus for Help

“Therefore, if you would look upon another and say, ‘Oh, they can talk with Jeshua, but I could never do that,’ stop lying to yourself!  Rather, come to see that if this ability is being made manifest in your field of awareness, it is because you have called it to yourself as a reminder of what is already inherent within you.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 157)

Perhaps we can talk to Jeshua (Jesus), just like Jayem, who channeled The Way of Mastery.  I used to have a dialogue going, every morning, with my concept of Jesus.  Maybe I was making it all up, but maybe not.  Then Jesus seemed to disappear on me, and Jayem told me in an email that Jesus doesn’t want to foster dependence.

We can depend on God rather than discrete entities, however exalted these entities might be.  When we depend on God, we are turning to our inner essence, the part of us joined with our Maker.   Then we get right answers, always and forever, though it is always possible that we mislead ourselves.  So, we must practice the concept of discernment.  Is this thought something that will hurt another?  If so, then we can be sure that we are getting “help” from some egoic part of ourselves.

Try talking to Jesus today.  His foci of consciousness know no limits, and also he has plenty of helpers who stand ready to guide us.  Always they will turn us back to our inner essence, for nowhere is it suggested or recommended that we turn our power over to somebody else.

We are not bereft in this troubled world.  We have help.  Regardless of our situation, help is only an appeal away.

How to Know More

“Here is a simple exercise.  Take just a moment and within your consciousness, drop this simple pebble:

“I am not what I have perceived myself to be.  I am unlimited, pure Spirit and nothing is unavailable to me.  Therefore, in this moment, I choose to open access to other dimensions of experience so that I might call this moment to me in a different way.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 155)

We seem to be more psychic than we know:  This is what Jesus is saying in this quotation for today.  If “nothing is unavailable to me,” then we can know those things that have been shrouded in mystery—just by asking to see with the eyes of our Spirit.

On the other hand, if we think we can’t discern new things, we will be caught by our past.  Jesus would not have it so for us.

In The Way of Mastery, Jesus often speaks of dropping pebbles of thought into our consciousness.  These pebbles then circle outward, and the thoughts are thereby expanded.  The image is a comforting one.

Let us “open access to other dimensions of experience.”  We can’t know exactly what will come up from our subconscious when we do open up.  But what comes will heal us, be healing to us.  And if we are to have transformation, glimpses of enlightenment that lengthen to the real thing, then we are encouraged to heal all layers of our mind.

This is our way home to God.

Be Calm

“Beloved friends, The Way of Transformation rests on exactly the same thing that all of your dreams rest upon—the decision concerning what you would be committed to.  For you cannot dream a dream, that is, you cannot create an experience in the field of consciousness, without being one hundred percent committed to it.  It may appear that this is not the case, but I assure you that it is.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 154)

Today I am beginning consideration of the second part of The Way of Mastery, about the transformation which we all seek, some without knowing it.  We are dreaming a dream, and right now in our world it very much seems that we are dreaming a worldwide nightmare.  We can, though, often make our experience better by what we choose to focus upon.  We create experiences for ourselves that we are committed to—that is what this quotation says.

Let us choose to commit to the good reaction of many good people in our world at this sad time.  If we choose to focus on this, the good reaction that does sometimes make the news, our dream will soften.  Our fears will recede, and with a clear mind we will begin to see solutions.  The solution is always with the problem, though right now that doesn’t seem true.  In our daily life, though, solutions do appear when our mind is calm.

May we do what we can in our little world, our circle of intimates.  May we stay peaceful, as much as possible, so that we can be of help to ourselves and the others we see and touch.

“I NEED DO NOTHING”

Note: Published in Miracles magazine for March – April 2020 (Jon Mundy, publisher)

by Celia Hales

“. . .[W]hen the goal is finally achieved by anyone, it always comes with just one happy realization: ‘I need do nothing.’”  (ACIM, COA ed., T-22.VII.7:1)

“This is a call that requires you to do nothing but to remain faithful to it.  You do not need to think about it, but only let it be.”  (ACOL, C:11.17)

“And here we begin to touch upon the essence of my teaching:  I need do nothing.”  (WOM, Part 3 “The Way of Knowing,” Lesson 27)

When the light has dawned, when we reach Awakening, Jesus says that we sense, “I need do nothing.”  This sentence may have caused much confusion, because it isn’t saying what we  think it is.

The Way of Mastery elucidates the meaning very well, for here the same thought is discussed.  First let’s take a look at what it isn’t saying:

I need do nothing so I’ll just show up. . . .I really don’t need to do anything, since none of it matters. (WOM, Lesson 27)

We might think that we can now rest on our laurels.  That we have arrived!  And need do nothing more.  But this is not quite right.

Instead, the meaning is simply to open ourselves up to our Source, God Himself, and the Holy Spirit Who will tell us that our only purpose is the extension of love.  In A Course of Love, we open ourselves up to the Christ-Self Who dwells within, for this is where we get guidance when we no longer need the intermediary of the Holy Spirit, being ourselves no longer afraid of God.  The Way of Mastery continues:

. . .to find that spaciousness with you in which you are willing to allow that voice within you that is eternally connected to your Source to be the vehicle through which you receive your guidance.  In the pure recognition that you have no purpose—save the extension of Love. (WOM, Lesson 27)

We are opening ourselves to the spaciousness of our very souls, something that A Course of Love discusses at length.  We are not falling down on the job.  Our work in the world still happens—and still matters–but we don’t dwell on the end result.  Instead, the action, on a daily basis and in the present, is finally viewed as the most important part.

We listen for what to do, and then we act.             An easy way to live.

Peaceful Mind & Loving Heart

“That Love which God is, is incomprehensible forever!  The sunbeam can never comprehend the sun.  I am a sunbeam to that sun.  You are a sunbeam to that sun.  We are therefore made of one substance, and that substance alone sustains us throughout eternity.  The greatest of joys is to surrender fully into allowing that Light to light your way without ceasing.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 151)

We too are sunbeams to the sun, for we are actually no different from Jesus.  He has just walked ahead of us a little.  And now he returns to take us home with him.  The pathway is clear, and we need but to surrender to God’s love, and we will be taken home to Him.

Would we like more joy in our lives?  This pathway is the way.  When our heart is loving and our mind is peaceful, we are walking in the right direction.  And it does take surrender to God, for He cannot help us if we resist Him.  Surrender is not a passive subjugation; it is the sincerest form of love for our Maker.  He loves and loves and loves, and when we open to His love, we know a peace and happiness that is unavailable to us when we are in denial of Him.

His Light will light the way for us.  His Light will do what everything in this world has failed to do.  Haven’t we had enough of resisting Him?  Haven’t we had enough of trying to be joyous in ourselves, without His blessing upon our choices?

Choose to develop a loving demeanor today.  A loving heart and a peaceful mind will take us far.

Right into the arms of God, Who plans all things for our benefit.

We Are Not Alone

“Rest assured, you are not alone.  In any moment, you need only call upon me, and I am with you.  And I do not come alone!  For some of you, then, we would highly suggest that in those moments when you feel like you need a little help, when fear seems to be coming up, but you know you must go ahead, whatever it be, whatever you think you are fearing, simply say:

“Legions of angels and masters and friends, whose number is infinite beyond comprehension, you who are sent directly of God to assist me over the ditch, come now, because I declare it and I receive it.  And therefore it is!

“Then take the step that is necessary to take.  It will not be your imagination.  We will be with you.  And the perfect end is certain.  Fear is nothing more than the illusion you have chosen to value in order to experience what it is like to feel separate from Love.  That is all.  You merely waved your cosmic magic wand and said, ‘Let there be fear so I can experience it.’”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 150)

This lengthy quotation has a lot to say to us.  Basically, we can get help if we are besieged by fear.  Legions of angels, masters, and friends will come to us, offering us the unseen help that we need.

Can we believe this?  Our life would be a lot more peaceful if we could.  If we could know that we have help at every turn, just for the asking.

Open the mind and heart a little, and see if we can adopt this consideration as a fact of life.  See if we can believe that many unseen forces help us when we fall in the “ditch.”

I sense unseen beings in the middle of the night, if I awaken and can’t get back to sleep.  The comfort soothes me, and often I do drift off again.  Believing that we are surrounded by loving spirits is a very empowering belief to have.

Try it out.  See if it makes sense to us.

Experiencing Love

“If you value sweetness, sweetness will come.  If you value receiving Love—listen to this carefully—if you value receiving Love, the world will begin to show up at your doorstep in completely different embodiments.  Different vibrations, different thought patterns will be mirrored back to you that let you receive Love.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 150)

We see what we want to see, and if Love is what we want to see, soon it will show up for us.  The sweetness of Love transforms, and after we have experienced the Love that Jesus here describes, we will be well on our way to a better life and a better future.

We get what we focus upon.  But the fulfillment of the law is made through Love.  Love is the highest and best energy available in the universe.  We touch God when we love.

And nothing is ever the same again.

This quotation seems to emphasize that what we focus upon becomes our own. This is great news! If things are going awry, we need only change what we are thinking and feeling about, and life will smooth out.

This is true philosophy, true theology. And Love is the most fulfilling way that this manifestation will come about for us.

What We Value, We Experience

“Remember, then, as you begin to come to the completion of the study of The Way of the Heart, that what you see outside of you is only the reflection of what you have allowed to live within you.  And simply ask:

“Is this what I wish to continue?  What do I truly want?  What is this, my very consciousness, for?  What do I commit myself to?  What do I say I believe?  Where do I freely choose to place the power of valuation?

“For what you value, you experience immediately.  The world will bow down and say, ‘Very well.  You have let us know what you value.  We will mirror it back to you, because we love you, because we are a part of you.  And heaven forbid that we would take away your free will.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 149)

The world does mirror back to us what we focus on.  We are looking for it, and it appears, because, as A Course in Miracles says, projection makes perception.  And we are projecting outward what, on some level of mind or heart, we want to see—maybe not consciously, but still present at some level.

We are thus manifesting our free will, something that God would never take from us.  If we want to have good days, we can and will focus on good things, for the negative mind sees danger everywhere—and frequently finds it.  Creative visualization, as Shakti Gawain tells us, is a secret to better days, more enjoyable times in our lives, more positive outcomes.  This focus is creative visualization, something that we often don’t recognize.

We can make our world from a conscious awareness of what we want to see, what we want to experience.  As we move forward, we are actually “creating,” rather than “making.”  And A Course of Love tells us that the best route to better experiences is to create a new world, something that we can all have a hand in.

This is actually a very optimistic and happy alternative to what we often experience when we don’t know any better.  When we focus on anxious moments, this escalates the anxieties.  When we focus on, God forbid, hateful moments, these become our own in our experience.  And we can extrapolate this focus to anything that we dwell upon.

Ask today to have help in experiencing better moments in our lives.  Happiness is a function of God’s children, as we learn in A Course in Miracles.  But He needs our cooperation to bring happiness into our little, individual worlds.

Create the Good, the Holy, the Beautiful

“So, you see, where I abide is everywhere at once.  And so do you; you simply do not know it yet.  I abide with an infinite array of friends who have realized the Truth and have been set free.  They are infinitely creating, without ceasing, that which extends their treasure, which is the good, the holy, and the beautiful.  Many have given you images of choirs of angels singing the praises of God.  It is the same thing.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 148)

Here we get a glimpse of the world that Jesus inhabits now.  Like “choirs of angels,” seeking the “good, the holy, and the beautiful.”

Might we do the same, even in this conflicted world?  We won’t enjoy the ecstatic embrace of Love to the same extent as choirs of angels, but we can have our own experience, an experience which can be very good indeed.

What does Jesus mean by saying that he abides everywhere at once?  And that we do, too?  I think he means that there is nothing outside of him, nothing outside ourselves.  This belief that there is nothing outside us is a tenet of A Course in Miracles.  It means that projection makes perception, that we are a hologram that contains the Whole, though our finite mind cannot conceive of such a glorious Truth.  We are a part of God, and with this, we can know that anything is conceivable.  Even knowledge of the Whole.

Our days in this world can be glorious, if projection makes perception.  What we hold inside our ourselves, we see outside.  If we hold conflict inside, we project this, and this is our experience of the world.  If we hold Love inside, we see evidence of Love in the world.  And the experience changes to something very grand.

We can create the good, holy, beautiful, as well.  Let us be about our Father’s business, as Jesus is, and see what may transpire today.

Let Love guide us.  And there will be no turning back to a lesser world.

Walk a Flower – Strewn Pathway

“You cannot take fear into Love.  You cannot take judgment into forgiveness.  You cannot take limitation into unlimitedness.  These things must be released at the level in which they were first created.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 146)

Jesus’ channeled writings (the principal of which are A Course in Miracles, A Course of Love, and The Way of Mastery) could not have been written in the manner given prior to Sigmund Freud.  Freud developed the idea of a subconscious mind that the mind of conscious awareness knew not of.  The fear, the judgment, and the limitation are lodged in this subconscious.  In the quotation for today, Jesus says that these things “must be released at the level in which they were first created.”   And this means the subconscious.

We didn’t set out to be fearful, to be judgmental, to be limited in our personalities.  These things developed over time in a world that impinged upon us.  We inherited much of this, but it is a dead-end street to blame our parents.  They too were hoodwinked.  People have simply not known any better because of the construct called the ego.  This is the false persona that rose up when we decided that we wanted a make a world different from what God had created.  We would try to do better than he.  And in this ridiculous notion, we retreated into fear when we “separated” from Him.  He let us go, knowing that with his gift of free will, He did not want to coerce us.

We cleanse the mind of fear, judgment, limitation by spending time communing with God in prayer, meditation, quiet times that nourish our soul.  We learn again that we are not sufficient unto ourselves, that we need each other.  We join others in relationships that promote the unity that we have to realize we need with God.  We take a step back from the ego.  We begin again.

We need to remove the blocks to the awareness of love.  This may take time, but it does not, should not, be a struggle.

When we seek, we do find.  And in the finding are all things made right again.  One with God and with each other, we walk a flower-strewn path—even in this world.

Expressing Mastery

“Expressing mastery is the effect of The Way of Transformation in this world, in this time, in this little tiny moment.  Rest assured, to the degree that you turn your attention to expressing mastery, to the degree that you use time wisely to be the embodied Christ, when the body drops away and it veils from you no longer the magnificence of the Light you are, the light will not be blinding to you.  You will not contract in fear.  You will merely let this world go gently and as easily as a child has put away a toy that has been outgrown, because its usefulness is complete.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 145)

The way to Awakening, as developed in Jesus’ recent channeled works, is gentle in the extreme.  Previously, many individuals who awakened without this guidance were hurled into reality unawares.  A great shock.  But A Course in Miracles, A Course of Love, and The Way of Mastery (the last also known as the Christ Mind Trilogy) have prepared us well to make a gentle transition into enlightenment.

Moreover, we know what is happening to us.  In previous years, the people who were hurled into reality frequently then went on an anguished search to try to find out what had happened to them.  There was evidence in the Eastern religions, Buddhism and Hinduism (among others), but very little could be found in Christian writing.  Sufism, the mystical arm of Islam, also knew some understanding.  But Christianity was nearly left out, and even today, there is very little that is discussed in mainstream Christian teaching.

If we want Awakening, Christ-consciousness, enlightenment, we need to erase the barriers of fear and judgment.  Our awareness of what love means needs to be strong in our heart.

Our light needs to shine in this world.  Ask to be shown the way today.

Mind = Servant of the Awakened Heart

“Those roots of fear must be dissolved at a level that is deeper than the conscious thinking mind can reach.  The mind was never designed to be your master, but to become aligned as a servant of the awakened heart, just like the flower blooms and sends forth its scent for all to see from the depth of the soil that is unseen, but has been well prepared.  So that the only roots that gather nourishment from the soil are the roots of that which speaks of Life and beauty, not that which speaks of fear and unworthiness.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 144)

We want the roots of our mind to be well-protected, nourishing new growth in our mind that will serve Love well.  The garden is an apt metaphor for this process.  Our subconscious mind has become polluted by weeds, and it behooves us to do something about this.

Jesus also speaks of Life and beauty, because these blessings will descend when we are truly loving and have cleansed our mind of pollutants.  What are the pollutants?  Hatred, attack, anger, discontent—all of these, plus many others that are hostile to the mind.  These hostile attitudes need to go, and go they will when we turn to love.  And Love with a capital “L,” Who is God Himself.

When we have been anxious and in fear for a long time, it may seem daunting to cleanse our mind of such pollutants.  If we ever want to reach Christ-consciousness, though cleansing the mind of fear and judgment is necessary.  And enlightenment or Christ-consciousness or Awakening—all meaning the same—is the goal of The Way of Mastery.  Jesus wants a genuine Awakening for all people everywhere, something that has never been done before.  But he is trying, and trying mightily, to get through to us, in channeled writings in addition to speaking to our hearts about what we really need to do.

Jesus has companions who work with him; he calls it the “lineage.”  These are entities who have long walked with God, loving and doing good in the world.  Many have now “graduated” from this plane, and return only to help us who are still caught in this world.

Ask today what might be done to rid the mind of weeds that have become an infestation.

Ask today to be shown how to love.

Quiet Mind

“I know that this sounds simplistic for you, but the way is easy and without effort.  Complexity is born of the world, and not from the Mind of God.  Therefore, continue well in that practice, and allow it to be the foundation from which the soil is prepared—the roots of fear are loosened—even in ways that you cannot comprehend with the thinking mind.  For the roots of fear are not merely ideas.  They are the effects of ideas.  They have been allowed to penetrate deep into the unconscious.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 143)

The Way of Mastery speaks often of how polluted our unconscious mind has become.  Our unconscious mind cries how for healing, and healing is on its way as soon as we make a nod in that direction.

We don’t have to “do” anything.  Doing will make for a busy mind, which is the reverse of what we seek.  The enlightened mind is quiet, thoughts slow down.  If we are to be comfortable with this new state of affairs, we need to begin somewhere.  We need to prepare the garden of our mind to welcome quietness.  In fact, A Course in Miracles says that a perfectly calm and quiet mind is where we are all heading.  Perhaps we don’t want that now, but that is because too much busyness has clouded our minds from what is the real good.

A friend once questioned “perfectly calm and quiet.”  She was quite a busy person, in work and in personal life.  She was so used to rushing around that we thought boredom would be her lot in life if she slowed down.

A quiet mind does take some getting used to.  But its advantages are many, and as we open to this healing, we will wonder why we used to run hither and yon all day long.  We will think that this rushing is an insane way to live.  And indeed it is.

Give calm and quiet a chance.  Let go of the stress that rushing about engenders.  Be willing to know that there is a better way to live.

Let Jesus Help

“Then, the rain of grace that purifies, transforms, awakens, and brings Christ consciousness to the mind can descend gently.  For when the rain falls upon hard ground, it strikes the soil and runs off, and the garden remains barren.  But the wise gardener, who has softened the soil, reached in and begun to pull up the roots, sifted the soil and made it soft, open and porous with the intent of bringing forth a beautiful garden, will, indeed, be assisted.  Then, the rain of grace will fall gently, without it being earned.  It is given freely.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 142 – 143)

We will be “assisted”!  Is this not a wonderful promise?  We are gardeners now, seeking to prepare the soil of our mind for Awakening, Christ-consciousness.  And we do need help in this endeavor.

Jesus will help, if we are open to this.  Many of us are not, for we have projected our judgmental thoughts onto him, and we don’t then feel kindly toward him.  But he has promised in A Course in Miracles to come upon a “single unequivocal call.”  Take him at his word.  Open the mind to locutions, which are quiet inner words that indicate an open heart, ready to receive.

We may very well, infrequently, hear Jesus “speak” to us.  This is a very great blessing that will be transformative in our experience.  It doesn’t take much to change the habit of a lifetime, a habit in which we turned from our savior because he seemed to be fearful to us.

Listen to Jesus’s channeled words in The Way of Mastery.  Know that the way back to God is easy and effortless to the open mind and heart.

Our Soul Knows

“Grace does not descend until your Father knows that you are willing to prepare a place to receive it.  This is why, in the process of healing and awakening, it is not necessary to seek for Love.  It is only necessary to prepare the place, the soil, by choosing to discover the obstacles to Love—which all come down to fear—and to be willing to loosen that root, that it might be removed from the garden of your consciousness.  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 142 – 143)

Today’s quotation builds on the preceding quotations for the day.  The metaphor of a garden continues.  We prepare the soil by removing the weeds of fear.  Our garden is our consciousness.  The soil is our mind, reaching down into the unconscious for healing.

Our soul knows what to do.  If we make ourselves available, the elixir of peace will solve everything.  Leave time for calm moments in the course of a day.  If we rush about with way too many things to do, how can we also be engaged in healing our minds?  A busy mind does not heal well.

Love is what we know when fear has been removed.  Love is our birthright.  The moments in which we feel love for others and for ourselves are healing to us.  Love envelops us when the thorn of fear is loosened from the garden that is our consciousness.

Feeling Love with our heart means that we have found God.  And He will then move to transform us by enlightenment.

Passionately Embrace Love

“The Way of the Heart has been designed to bypass the cognitive or thinking mind, and to strike at the roots of fear that abide in the depth of the mind in a place that is, by and large, unconscious.  All that we do seeks to dissolve that root from the depth of your being.”  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 142)

Our minds get us into trouble.  Our intellect, that intellect that we have often prized, is a handicap as we seek God.  Our intellect depends upon perception, which is an illusory way of viewing the outer world.  It is our heart that will save us, a concept that A Course of Love makes clear.

Uproot fear, reach for the root of it, and then be done with it.  Turn aside firmly, and passionately embrace love.  Love is the realm of the heart.  All that is not love is fear in some form.  And we need to find a way to remove ourselves from the fear.

Our thinking mind has often done us in, though we were taught to be proud of what we “knew” when we were going to school.  This was not true knowledge, which comes unbidden, intuitively.  What we had in school was a perception of ideas, and perception is fraught with illusion.

We need to let the unconscious rise to the surface, and to do this, we need quiet.  We need to spend time in our quiet corner each and every day.  If this is meditation, so be it.  The silence of quiet will heal.  And if the mind is busy, the unconscious won’t rise to the surface, where those thoughts can be healed.

Be patient, for we have many, many years of pushing down into the unconscious those things that disturbed us.  Fears, all.  Be assured that we will have help as we do our quiet part of releasing fears in the unconscious.  Don’t let the rising up be a disturbance.  The rising up is necessary for healing to take place.

Uproot the Weed of Fear

“Therefore, in truth, we come not to improve what you would be thinking of as the surface of the garden, the surface of the soil, but to strike at the root that resides deep within the mind, in the depth that I have called the heart or the soul.  All that we endeavor to do, then, is designed to uproot the weed of fear that has made a home in the depth of your being.  (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 12, Page 142)

We have a garden in the mind that has weeds.  The weeds are fears that need to be uprooted, not cut off above the root, but uprooted by plucking from the soil of our soul.  We can’t have Awakening or Christ-consciousness with fear engulfing our minds and bodies.  If we can’t get rid of fear, we can’t move into enlightenment.

This is something that we can believe God asks us to do, in preparation for His reaching “down” and uplifting us.  Get rid of the fear.  But not by resisting it, for resistance solidifies what we would avoid.  We just gently turn aside from the fear.  How to do that?

Meditation, someone commented on this blog, is the panacea for all ills.  Certainly Jesus thinks that meditation is helpful, for there is an entire workbook of meditations with A Course in Miracles (the second volume).  Meditation calms, and a calm mind is less anxious, and anxiety is one of the most common manifestations of fear.

Let’s take a few minutes today to indulge our minds and bodies with meditation, for it is an indulgence, a healing.  Our very souls will thank us.

And fears will take a step backward.

Quiet Places of the Heart

“Even as the thoughts of the world stream through your brain-mind, even as the sensory data are received through the cellular structures of the nervous system of the body, you can relinquish these things, and act only from that depth of perfect wisdom, perfect safety and perfect peace. Let this be a time of ‘thanksgiving.’ Will it be that time in which you truly give thanks for the grace that sets you free? Will you honor that grace by descending of the stairway to the quiet places of the heart in each of your days?” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 11, Page 139)

When we have a busy mind, we are kept from the depths of our being, losing touch with our soul. But we can dip deeply into our mind, and still act from “perfect wisdom, perfect safety and perfect peace.” This better view comes when we relinquish the busyness, and just sink into quietness. This quietness will give us both happiness and calm, because it is the best thing that we have going for us.

Jesus seems here to be asking us to meditate. And certainly spiritual teachers everywhere and of every time have counseled meditation. The happiness and calm that we know after a little while of meditation is palpable. We are much more prone to love, in the greatest sense possible. When we are stressed, love goes out the window.

We thus need to descend the stairway to the quiet place of the heart in each of our days.

It will make all the difference.

Turn to Quiet Center of Self

“Remain with me here, for here do I abide. The only difference between us is that occasionally you believe that you abide somewhere else. When you journey up those stairs, to begin to be distracted by the thoughts on the surface of your mind and by the sensory feedback of the energy field that comprises your physical creation, I remain in our shared heart, patiently waiting for your return.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 11, Page 138)

We are all One, and this includes Jesus, who many believe channeled this message through Jayem. Here Jesus refers to our “shared heart,” and the Self is indeed the One to which he refers.

We often leave this shared heart to go about our business in the world. We don’t touch base with our interior nearly enough. And touching base with our interior is the best way that we have to make wise choices in life. This is communing with the Holy Spirit (as described in A Course in Miracles) or the Christ-Self (as described in A Course of Love).

When we lose touch with what is inside of ourselves, we lose touch with that which can give us solace and peace. We are cut adrift.

Turn to the quiet center of the Self today. Don’t try to go it alone in a hostile and cruel illusion of a world.

We won’t succeed in living a good life if we seek to be independent and self-sufficient.

True wisdom is recognizing that turning to our Creator is the wisest decision we can ever make.

Imagining Jesus’ Lifetime

“As you come to feel grounded, rooted in that deep and silent place, ask whatsoever you will and its answer shall not be hidden from you. Ask to witness my lifetime as I walked upon your Earth, and it will be shown to you. Ask to be shown the vibrational field in which you were conceived in this life; it will not be hidden from you. Ask whatever you would about a friend, who perhaps has seemed troubled of late, and the source of what is occurring within them will be gently revealed to you.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 11, Page 137)

This quotation says startling things that are actually great blessings. Would we not want to know more? When we are grounded in our walk through this world, we develop certain powers that are not available to us when we live on the surface of life.

This is a “knowing.” We don’t imagine, develop figments of the imagination or flights of fancy. This knowing leads us by the hand and gives us a better way to view life.

These are the new gifts that come to us as we walk farther along our pathway back home.

These are gifts that hurt nobody, and that offer a solace to ourselves, as well as our brothers and sisters.

Be sure to say “thank You” to God for these new, psychic gifts.

Caressed by the Touch of God

“When you think a loving thought, you have been caressed by the touch of God. When you hear not loving thoughts within yourself, this can mean only that you have returned to the surface, and have denied the depth within you.

“If you would hear only loving thoughts, simply observe where your attention is. And allow it to settle deeply into this place, beyond time, beyond the body, beyond the dream of the world. For this place—the Kingdom of Heaven within you—is vast beyond comprehension. The world you know when you take your attention to the surface of the mind is contained and embraced within this heart, like a dewdrop begins to be consumed by the ocean that receives it.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 11, Page 136)

We are encouraged to take our mind and heart deep within us, often.
This soulful living will keep us moving in the best direction. We will know peace. We will know stillness. We will be led to make good choices, the right decisions, and we will find peace in those decisions.

This takes love, and we might spell Love with a capital “L,” for this Love is God Himself. We need Him, and all of us know this, though we frequently take our mind to the surface and seem to get disconnected from the vast ocean of His love. If we are to thrive, we must practice not only Love of God, but Love of others, and (particularly difficult for us) Love of self.

This love of Self is not an egotistical thing, for that would break the circuit. This love of Self is recognizing that we can’t love our Creator if we don’t love ourselves. And this is where many of us get hung up. We think that self-love is egoic, and even when we know better, we find many things about ourselves to regret. We think we aren’t good enough, and so we make New Year’s resolutions that seek to turn us into something we can accept.

We are good enough right where we are! Our mistakes are just that, and when we are aware of those mistakes, and seek retribution in God’s love, we have done all that needs to be done. We are sorry for our wrongs; we apologize to others; we apologize also to ourselves.

Take the time today to take to heart the truth of A Course in Miracles: that we are innocent of wrongdoing, that we have been living in a dream, and that our mishaps have not really happened at all.

Dreams are not true reality. When we awaken from our dream, then we will know the reality of harmony and peace, true blessings of the Love Who created us.

Just a Quiet Knowing

“Within this awareness lies the answer to every question you might choose to ask. Within this shimmering awareness is the reassurance that the end of the journey is certain. Within this shimmering awareness do you abide at one with all minds and every aspect of creation. Join with me here often, in remembrance of me. For this is the secret of communion—to relinquish the perception of the world in favor of the acknowledgment of Reality.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 11, Page 136)

The perception of the world includes much that is deplorable. We don’t have to look with fearful eyes at this perception, though. Reality, true Reality, is perfectly harmless. It is the way we perceive that shows us harmony, joy, peace, Love. It leads into knowing, or into just “knowledge,” which is an immediate understanding that is largely intuitive. We act out of knowing when we are sure of the action we are taking. No voices, no locutions, no magic. Just a quiet knowing.

We are invited to commune with Jesus so that he can show us more than we could figure out on our own. Our awareness takes a giant leap forward when we take him up on his word. His foci of consciousness is very great, so that many of us can tune in and be answered at any given time. Of course, such speculation is beyond us. How could there be numerous foci of consciousness on the part of one entity? We don’t know, but then again, we don’t have to know. We can test out our suspicions about Jesus’ availability to us, and we will not be disappointed. We will find him here for us, if we ask for his presence with an open heart.

Would it not be wonderful to have the solution to every problem, shining in the wind? Every question we seek to ask has a ready Answer in the Holy Spirit or the Christ-Self. We need simply pose a question, clear our minds, get quiet, and then wait patiently. The Answer will, when we are open, pop into our mind. There is no struggle. We are the ones who make struggle, and we are looking deep in our depths, where there is only quiet, no struggle at all.

Commune with our depths today.

We will never find a better way to live.

Depth of a Perfect Silence

“I share with you the depth of a perfect silence. I share with you wisdom supreme. I abide as you are: the thought of Love in form. To be in form does not mean to be a body. It means only that the Christ Mind, which is the reality of Love’s existence, truly abides within each of us equally. If this were not so, you could not recognize me. When you read a word, or a sentence, or a paragraph that resonates within you as being the truth, you could not know it was so, if that Truth did not already live within you as the reality of your very existence.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 11, Page 135)

We are not actually learning anything new: We are “remembering.” This is a tenet of The Way of Mastery, that we don’t actually learn new things, that we are recalling to mind what was learned a very long time ago, and then forgotten, much to our detriment.

Our Truth is written on our heart. Not our mind. When we say this, everyone knows what we mean. The “heart” has a very definite point of understanding in our psyche. When we soften to listen to our heart, we want a smooth pathway back to our God. Our feet don’t stumble on stones, we don’t trip and fall. We just walk smoothly along a flower-strewn pathway. And we discover much on this peaceful and often slow journey.

We get impatient to get on with it. We want Awakening, and we want it now.

But this is not God’s way. He acts only when certain that WE are ready for the great responsibility of Christ-consciousness. Sitting as Christ for five minutes a day can speed the process, but still God probably acts in a much more measured pace than we would like. The slowness prompts patience, something sorely lacking in many of us.

Jesus, our leader, is offering us the chance to commune with our God in silence. In silence is how God speaks to us. Understanding Him is a “feeling” issue, and feelings belong to the heart. That is why turning to our heart for decisions is so important. Our ratio of mistakes to good decisions becomes much improved toward good decisions.

When in doubt, just ask for the loving response to be writ upon our heart. This way we won’t go astray as we walk back to God, letting Love heal the separation.

Still, Small Voice

“Rest with me, and acknowledge that our minds are joined. As you rest, again, you might notice that thoughts seem to arise and pass away. But do you not sense them, now as though they were coming from a place where you are not, as though you had sunk more deeply to a place of quiet beneath the surface upon which thoughts flow back and forth without ceasing?” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 11, Page 135)

Being quiet, staying in our quiet corner, is a most powerful way to connect with the God within. If we let the hubbub of the world get into our mind and heart, we will find it very difficult to listen to the still, small Voice. And listening to the still, small Voice is exactly what we need to do.

What will that Voice tell us? Some of what we hear will be unique to each of us, for we are unique creations of God, with nobody else the exact duplicate of ourselves. But some of what we hear will be shareable with others, for they too will need the same message. Shareable when they are open to hear, for we do not want to force ourselves on anybody who is not ready to hear God’s message.

If we “rest” with Jesus, we will be well on our way to a new day in living. He would not have us anxious and tied in knots over anything. His Father is not reached that way. We make our own hell on earth when we let nervousness take over. So contemplate silently, or meditate. Still the mind and heart.

When the mind and heart are stilled, then flow happens. And flow is as close to following the Holy Spirit’s every nudge as we can come. We don’t get stubborn and seek to have everything “our” way. We listen to our inner guidance, and then we act. This best way to live is open to all of us, though not all of us are equally listening. For those who are, the message is clear and unmistakable.

Be still and listen for God’s prompting in our very soul.

We WILL hear, and we will not be disappointed in what we hear.

New Order of Reality Dawns

“[T]urn to face the direction of the arising sun, and go into a simple prayer. . . .

“Breathe deeply into the body, relax the mind, and begin simply to say within yourself:

“Death has occurred, and now the birth of Christ is at hand.

“Father, I accept fully your will for me. Your will is only that I be happy and use time to extend my treasure.

“Now I receive the warmth of your Light and your Love.

. . .

“And when the whole body—from the crown of the head to the tips of the toes and down through each finger—is filled with light, then gently open the eyes of Christ, and let yourself see a new world, a new creation, a new beginning. Now the journey to the Kingdom is over, and the journey within it can begin. Graduate school is just around the corner.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 131 – 132)

The above quotation illustrates what we might do and say to welcome Awakening into our lives. And doing so means that “graduate school,” living as an awakened individual, is here.

Not all of us have come this far. But there are indications that many of us are far along the pathway. The “celestial speedup,” which Jesus described in A Course in Miracles, is well underway, and we are now, according to A Course of Love, living in the time of Christ. These are harbingers of a new order on the horizon. And for this to be true, many of us will see Awakening as a true process that takes us into a new world.

Have patience. Above all, don’t blame God if Awakening does not seem to come when we ask. We may not be ready. The subconscious needs to be cleansed, all the way down. And that may take some doing.

Stay the course. Know that the time will be as right as the Answer.
The way back to God is effortless on our part. Can we understand this? No, for we get upset when we realize the work done by the Holy Spirit or the Christ-Mind is so disproportionate to what we are doing. Let God move us, tell us when and where to act, what to think, how to pray.

We live a cosmic second, even in a long lifetime. Our time is not God’s.

So know that we are staying the course, and all will be well.

End of Our Journey Is Certain

“But I can promise you, if you will take up such a path—simply, joyfully, gently, patiently—the end of your journey is certain. If you choose a path filled with magic and many complex strategies, the end is not so certain. The way is easy and without effort:

“I am already that which I seek.

“I need only allow it to guide me.

“While this body lasts, I will allow it to be a communication device that extends the treasure of perfect Love, perfect safety, and perfect peace to all who enter my house.

“And your house is your field of energy, the expanse of your presence.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 131)

Jesus is here warning against those who would seek to “teach” enlightenment through magical means. His way is simple; in fact, it is here already. We are just too blind to see.

We have only imagined that we walked away from, separated, from God. Actually separation from God is impossible, for He dwells within, with us being a part of Him. But we can imagine ourselves anyplace that we want; this is free will in action. Imagining that we no longer know God has occupied us for eons.

Has being without God been good for us? Has this imagination borne good fruit?

Of course not. Walking away from Him Who is our Center could only bring pain, pain that often turned into an illusory suffering. We think that we could exercise our free will only by refusing to be a part of God any longer. We don’t know what we have effected, for the very words are meaningless. We have retreated into madness.
Now we need a cleansed and healed mind. Let Jesus guide the way to our healing. Having taken the pathway himself, he is in the best position to help, especially when we can’t help ourselves at all. If we could heal the separation without aid, we would have done so long ago.

Extend Love to our house, our field of energy, and watch the mind emerge from darkness into light, into happiness.

Dancing in the World of Dreams

“Whatever feelings arise, come and go. But somehow you begin to recognize that you are much larger than the things that come and go, that you are watching a dance of shadows, a dream, gently passing by, that is gone in a cosmic split second. This does not become a way in which you deny your experience. Rather, it gives you the freedom to embrace it and live it totally, with passion, with purpose, with power, and in perfect freedom—no anxiety, no pressure, just the willingness to dance in the world of dreams, while remaining awake. (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 129 – 130)

Dancing in the world of dreams is what awaits us on the other side of Awakening. Our world, actually an illusion, is called a dream because it passes so easily from our consciousness. If we remain awake, we have lost nothing by its passing. All things are fleeting, and we enjoy those things while they remain with us, but we just as easily let them go, for in this world nothing is permanent. Change is the only constant.

I have long enjoyed a private attachment to the image of dancing in our reality. Dancing is such a freeing activity. We twirl and twist, feeling as though our toes lift from the ground and stay aloft. Of course, the toes do come back to earth, but we have changed in the dancing. We have touched some of the freedom that we will know in a constant Awakening.

Would we not like to have “no anxiety, no pressure. . .” in this world? Of course. That is what we have thought to be a pipe dream. But here Jesus is telling us that such a state of affairs can be a constant with us. It is awaiting us in God’s Kingdom, the land of Awakening. It is what we enjoy with a healed mind.

We have lived in insanity, madness. Now we are on the road back home to God. Many of our struggles are falling away as, now, we live the “happy dreams the Holy Spirit brings” (from A Course in Miracles). As our new reality passes by quickly, we don’t have to cling to it. We don’t deny the experience. We just embrace the rapid change that accompanies us on our journey.

This is a way to live a passionate life without the highs and lows of egoic drama. This is the type of passion that gives us joy without a down side.

This is what we all long for. Let’s commune with our God and ask Him to direct us in healing our minds. Insane no more, we will walk a green earth.

Every day.

Sit as Christ

“Now, to build on what you have been doing, we would simply ask you to add this simple practice. When you sit in your chair for five minutes abiding as Christ, remembering the Truth that has set you free, begin to ask yourself the simple question: “This day, how can I extend my treasure? “How can I add to that which I am storing up in the Heaven of my consciousness? “

“Immediately, you will begin to get pictures—an old friend who needs a phone call, someone to write a letter to. It could be something as simple as picking up your cat, placing it upon your lap, and seeing all of infinity in that living being, and feeling the joy that comes as you run your hand along its fur. It could be something as grand as going to Washington, D.C. in order to send a blessing to your president. It does not matter what it is because that voice of Love will be guiding your actions. It may be as simple as turning to your spouse and saying, ‘You know, I appreciate you.’“Whatever it is, let the day not fade away until that action is accomplished, or at least set into motion.”(“The Way of the Heart,”WOM, Lesson 10, Page 130)

Earlier Jesus has asked us to sit for five minutes “as Christ.”This quiet time is extended in this quotation. We are asked to ruminate, in a free-wheeling fashion, about our lives. To ask what we might do to help someone. To ask what we might do to help ourselves. If we have invited these “pictures,”then it behooves us to act on what comes up. It is all an attempt to take us closer to enlightenment, for all that we image can be an expression of Love demonstrated. And extending Love is the great secret to Awakening.

So: Just sit and think, keeping the body relaxed, the mind on neutral—until images come up that we will want to attend to. This type of contemplation is a form of meditation, though we are not saying a mantra. This type of contemplation, though, may be better suited to frenetic Westerners who have trouble stilling our minds. Assume a relaxed posture, and see what transpires. We may be closer to Awakening than we have any idea.

Ask Only

“Ask only:

“How can I extend my treasure this day?

“And lay up treasures where moth and dust cannot corrupt, that is, where time, materiality, the body and the world cannot ‘hook you.’ Rather lay up treasures that are in Heaven: forgiveness, peace, unlimitedness, recognition of your unlimited power, that which brings you joy and puts a smile upon your countenance. Lay up for yourself these treasures and all things shall be added unto you.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 129)

When we lay up these treasures—forgiveness, peace, etc.—we are seeking the Kingdom of God, called in A Course of Love, the House of Truth. And, as the Bible says, “all things shall be added unto you.” The biblical tenet is to seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. And “righteousness” means “right-mindedness.” We need a healed mind.

We know what positivity means, and these gifts from God are all positive. Our own deluded minds have been lost in negativism for long years. It is this negative slant of the ego that has done us in. We wanted treasures that moth and dust corrupt, and we got them—to our detriment.

Now all that is changing for us. We have sifted the good from the bad, and we know that corruptible gifts do not satisfy for long. We want the intangible blessings from God that give us much joy—the Love, harmony, peace, joy, sense of unlimitedness. And we can have them, for they are our birthright. We have previously just been asking for the wrong things.

Let the law of attraction work for the best in life, the intangibles. Then and only then will we know the peace that passeth understanding. Then and only then will we know happiness that lasts.

Our way is being pointed out to us. We are not so dense that we don’t see it. We need simply to abide in God’s embrace, and all good things will be added unto us.

Love Has Worked Its Magic

“Here, beloved friends, is the way to the Truth that sets you free. You must absolutely become wholly committed to being awake for no other reason than that you have realized you have no other choice. You have already made them all and they have only led to pain.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 128)

We know that we have had pain in our lives; nobody has escaped it. It is particularly our choices that have led to pain that gives us the most cause for regret. We think, “If only I had not done that, then things would have been different!” We think if we had done something else, our pain would never have arisen.

But pain is a part of the human condition. Until there comes a time that we surrender, totally, to God, and in that surrender choose Love with all its ramifications. When we choose Love, we have made the only legitimate choice open to us. And this one choice is all that is required to heal our minds all the way to their depths. Over time, in the awakening process, the bad reactions that need healing come to the surface, and we surrender them, forgiving ourselves and others, including God, who come to mind. In this process, we are open to true Love.

And then the great Awakening comes, in God’s timing, not ours. But our Self, being a part of God, has had something to do with that timing. If we carry out the exercises that Jesus gives us in The Way of Mastery, we will speed along our healing. Then we become enlightened, Christ-conscious, individuals.

Is there much change? Not to others. We appear as we always have, and indeed, with no ego to protect, we may appear even more “ordinary.” Our humility masks what a great transformation we have undergone.

Our pain is gone. Oh, there may be a few physical twinges, but the emotional pain (which has been the most damaging to us) has been healed. Our minds are right with God. We know it, if nobody else does, for there comes a particular moment in time that we realize that all has changed.

Love has worked its magic. We are home in God.

Teach ONLY Love

“The wisest of students are those that hear the word and put it into practice, diligently, for themselves—not for their mother, not for their father, not for their spouse, not for their brother, not for their sister, not for the sake of the planet, not for the sake of the universe, not for the sake of the new dawn that is coming, not for the sake of anything but themselves. For their Self is what God created. And that Self calls out to you to honor it, by separating your Self from the illusions that you have allowed to make a home in your mind, and becoming wholly committed to teaching only Love.

“There is no other way. Yes, you can learn to sit in meditation and allow the mind and body to float free, to relax. Yes, you can learn rituals that help to focus your attention so that you remember what you are committed to, and the distractions of the world do not seem to quite catch you or hook you as much. There are many strategies that you can enjoy and experience. But in the end, it is only this: a quiet choice within that no one recognizes, that no one sees, that no one hears.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 127)

Yes, living and teaching Love is the only way to awaken.

It is a simple choice. Jesus makes plain here that methods of stilling the mind in silence may help, time spent in meditation may help, but the real elixir is to just to love. Turn to the ones in our circle and love them. Then embrace the world as a whole, even those outside our circle.

The practice of loving will transform us, will grant us awakening. There is no other sure way.

We make this choice for ourselves, and perhaps saying this makes our choice sound selfish. But there is a more altruistic reason. We can control only ourselves, and even this we do imperfectly. We aren’t supposed to attempt to control those in our circle, and especially not our nearest and dearest, our significant others, including spouse, children, parents. They will resist our control, and for good reason. We simply have to let everyone walk their own path.

Our quiet choice of awakening has to embody the whole Self, and that Self includes God Himself. Our Self, a part of God, is the decision-maker. Elsewhere it is said that God makes the decision of when we are to experience Awakening, but we hold some of those cards ourselves. We walk along the pathway, in surrender to Him, and then, lo and behold, we have the great blessing descend upon us—first in snatches, and then continually.

We might seem to change to nobody else, but inwardly there will be a certainty that we have experienced something that we have wanted very much. We will still seem like ordinary people, social security numbers and street addresses and ID cards, but inwardly we will be very different indeed.

Bid that difference come to us today. But wait on God’s timing, in patience.

How This Day Might I Extend the Good, the Holy, the Beautiful?

“A creator, abiding in enlightenment, knows that all events are neutral, so neutral that they have no effect, except for those who choose to be caught up in illusions. The creator, awakened, merely creates out of devotion to the mystery of That which has created him or her. The mind of an enlightened creator does not arise in the morning and say, ‘How can I survive yet another day in this world?’ In the morning, when an enlightened creator arises, the question is:

“How this day might I extend the treasure of the good, the holy, and beautiful?

“How can I, right where I am, experience these treasures even within the space and volume of this body?

“How can I look lovingly upon what my physical eyes show me, so that I discern or extract the good, the holy, and the beautiful, and therefore, give them to myself?” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 126)

A hallmark of The Way of Mastery is the phrase, “the good, the holy, and the beautiful.” These are indeed beautiful words, something we would all wish to emulate.

Often, though, we may wake up on a given day in a funk, deploring our lives, thinking of our crises for the day, fearful of what that day will bring. We know that this is no way to live, but we do it anyway. We really don’t know how to avoid thinking such negativity. Is there a way out?

There is. It is the oft-spoken maxim in Eastern circles, “Be willing to have it so.” This is what Jesus calls in WOM “allowance.”

“Acceptance” is a close synonym. If we don’t resist negativity, it loses its punching power. What we resist grows stronger; the force field increases. But when we surrender to God in allowing whatever might transpire, to transpire, we are paradoxically freed.

Of course, we don’t lie down in the dust and accept the bad as the “way things are.” We accept only while in the flow that God gives us. And the “flow” keeps us safe. It is another way of stating “mindfulness.”

Focus on the good, the holy, and the beautiful. Seek to expand those things, and all will be well with our day. Even if the days has things that go awry, we will know that we are in the flow with God.

And that makes all the difference.

Relinquish What No Longer Serves

“That book is the depth of your consciousness in which all things are already written. And that depth finds its source in your heart. You enter it through forgiveness, through the process of relinquishing the world—not hating the world, not despising the world, but simply relinquishing it. You allow your time to serve you in the process of relinquishing what does not serve you any longer, and what only disturbs your peace.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 125)

“That book” is actually our minds and hearts, what dwells within and can free us of all impediments. We need to allow our subconscious to surface, and in the surfacing our mind will be healed. It is just that simple, but just that difficult.

When we contemplate, letting our minds go over the past, and we dedicate this time to God, we are on the right track. When we allow ourselves to feel forgiveness for that dramatic past, we are really on the right track.

Most of us have had drama in our past, and we will have drama again if we don’t forgive ourselves as well as others whom we have known. This drama needs to step aside so that the better value of peace can give our mind and heart some rest, some respite.

Ask for help in cleansing the subconscious. In numerous places The Way of Mastery tells us that this cleansing is a necessity for enlightenment.

Let’s get on with it.

To Be In the World but Not of It

“In just this way, unenlightenment can be put away as though it were a toy that you have outgrown—by merely looking at all of the effects of unenlightenment , and then asking the question, ‘Is this what I wish to have continue as my experience? Or am I willing to put the doll on the windowsill, and pick up a book instead?’ A book that speaks of Life, a book that is filled with wisdom, a book that teaches you how to step lightly in the world, to be in the world but not of it.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 125)

Jesus speaks in The Way of Mastery as though enlightenment were a decision of ours. But when we realize that we have God in our depths, that all, everywhere, is “God-stuff,” then the assertion makes more sense.

We cannot just “decide” for enlightenment, though. We need to heal the depths of our unconscious by forgiving each part of our psyche that has judged another. Forgive and be healed. It is just that simple.

Jesus was the only major religious figure to stress forgiveness. He knows something that can make quite a difference in our lives.

Let him speak to us today.

Would We See Ourselves Whole & Complete?

“In the end of all seeking, you must look into the mirror and decide to be the one who heals yourself. You are the one who decides, from infinite freedom, how to use the power of your mind in each moment. Therefore, the only question that a seeker of truth really truly need ask him or her self is this:

“Would I know conflict or peace?

“Would I be right or happy?

“Would I see the complete neutrality of all events in this world as wisps of a dream being birthed and passing away?

“Would I see myself whole and complete?

“For as I look upon the world, I have judged myself.

“And as I look upon myself, I judge the world.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 124)

If we listen to these wise words, we see that “flow” in daily life is required. We open up our minds and hearts to the influence of God, moment by moment, and the sometimes frantic outcome of our day transforms. We are happy when we let go and let God, and this is ultimately what flow is all about.

“Would I be right or happy?” This well-known quotation from A Course in Miracles says it all, and here Jesus is saying the very same in The Way of Mastery. (Jesus asked Jayem not to read A Course in Miracles before channeling this new work, and so there is no chance that Jayem was merely quoting ACIM.) The obviously correct Answer is just to fall into happiness. Why do we think we need to raise up conflict with our brothers and sisters so that we are more “right” than they are?

It is hard to imagine that all events in this difficult world are neutral, but they are. We write on these neutral events our own projections. And projection makes perception (another ACIM tenet). The world is doing nothing to us. We are projecting our lives into this world, often invoking the law of attraction to bring about what we experience.

We need to see ourselves a good people, innocent people, people who have only made forgivable mistakes. And these forgiven mistakes will not hold us back.

Choose peace today.

Be in the flow.

“I and My Father Are One”

“I and my Father are one. It has been that way forever. It was accomplished in the being of Jeshua ben Joseph, who revealed to me the truth of myself, because he loved me. And if he can do it, I can do it. Even in this moment, I accept my destiny to walk this Earth awake and at peace, in mastery, and not in fear. And I begin my ministry now.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 123 – 124)

These comforting words from Jesus (Jeshua ben Joseph), a mantra for us, are manna for our parched souls. We get ourselves so tangled up when we try to go it alone. If we let God live through us, and we are aware of this fact, everything goes so very much better.

Sure, we will still have some emotional upheavals. But they will be quickly overturned when we turn back to God. Our insanity is now short-lived, and that is what our anger and attack really have been—just insanity. Sometimes we need to get very quiet and ask for help in navigating this difficult world. When we ask for help, the help immediately arrives; we need only open to it.

We don’t have to gear ourselves us for warfare in this world. We simply turn aside from the hostility that we see, knowing that when our eyes are accustomed to the Light, we will see no antagonism at all. We will be at peace.

Effortless Decision-Making

“The way is so simple and so easy that the mind of the world overlooks it, thinking that it simply cannot be. But that which is simple seems impossible to that which insists on complexity. And a mind that insists on conflict simply cannot accept that there is another way. Yet what waits before you is simply this: In the end of all of your struggles, in the end of all of your doubts, and in the end of all of the moments of your unconscious conforming to the mind of the world, there remains the simple choice to be made—the choice to acknowledge the truth that has already set you free.” (“The Way of the Heart, WOM)

The truth is that the way back to God is both easy and effortless, something that all of us can allow the Holy Spirit to bring about in our lives. We stay in such conflict, and such conflict is, oh, so unnecessary. And we struggle so. Why?

Maybe it is time that we ask ourselves this question, why? To what avail do our struggles and doubts bring us? We just raise our blood pressure, perhaps, and damage our physical bodies, not to speak of our emotional bodies.

There is another way. And we need to get the clouds of complexity out of the way before we can act on this other way. We just do the loving thing, let Love direct our movements. It is so easy—and yet so hard, for we are used to getting ourselves in a dither.

Choose the most loving alternative, and then test it out in prayer. Are we actually tying ourselves in knots over what is “love’? Or are we following God’s way? Which is it?

Discernment, a Quaker concept, will lead us aright. And that discernment comes through quiet times in our quiet corner. Ask the Holy Spirit what to do, what to say, what to think, even.

And everything will come out alright.

Whispers of Guidance

“But there were other voices that spoke to me and called me, that would come often in the night. As I developed my ability to discern these other realities, these other dimensions, by shifting my attention from the world of the body to the world of inner vision, often they would come in the night and stand beside my bed. I came to know who they were. I came to recognize the masters and teachers of a very ancient lineage of which I was a part. They would come and whisper to me:

“‘Forget not the purpose for which you are sent forth from the Mind of God, for through you there shall be birthed the beginning of an ancient remembrance. And your life shall become that which demonstrates to many the truth that only Love is real.’” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 10, Page 122)

Jayem channeled “live,” in that his mind receded, remembering nothing, as Jesus channeled through him. Knowing how the channeling happened can let us in on the validity of what The Way of Mastery is really saying. And here Jesus gives insight into his development as the savior that he is.

We too can invite the presence of the Other Side when we lie in bed, waiting to go to sleep, or when we awaken in the night. Whispers of words will come to us, locutions. This does not have to be startling; it can be the warmest reassurance.

The way of Jesus was well-prepared for generations before his arrival; he makes this point in nearby passages. He was remembering what he had prepared to do: Show a way of love that would be totally defenseless and able to be felt in the direst circumstances.

If we follow the way of Jesus, our own way will be lit by love as well.
