Freedom from Imprisonment

“Become willing to be one who cultivates the ability to allow all things.  The mind that is free can do this.  The mind that is imprisoned cannot.  For the mind that is imprisoned is so because it insists that what it perceives should become different in itself, but that the perceiver need not change.  And that is the very essence of imprisonment.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery, Chapter 21, Page 253)

Our problems are frequently self-created. But when we seek answers from a counselor, we often think that everybody else has to change–rather than us! This insight from the psychologist and writer, Richard Carlson.

And this is exactly what Jesus is saying here, channeled by Jayem. But we need to “allow,” and this means being willing to have it so. It doesn’t mean we never will work for change in ourselves, other people, or the world, but it does mean that we are accepting in the face of things that don’t seem to want to be different. We don’t become tangled up in trying to effect change, when things often just seem to remain the same, oblivious to our influence.

In an unreal world, we project what we are viewing. It is a mass hallucination, an illusion. A Course in Miracles says famously, “There is no world!,” and though we don’t want to believe it, there it is.

We ought not to worry others with our insistence that they do our bidding. It is enough that we, the perceiver, make changes in ourselves that we see are needed. It always starts with ourselves. The world will change when enough people realize this. The tipping point will have been reached.

“Play” in God’s Kingdom

“There can be no end to the Mind of God.  You will abide forever within it, like one who abides in an infinite forest.  Why not be at play in the Kingdom?”  (“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery, Chapter 20, Page 249)

Most of us on the spiritual path take many things too seriously. Just this morning at breakfast my husband and I were talking about a college friend who had told us that she did not enjoy college. My husband replied, “I think everything at your college was too serious.”

This exchange can be compared to how we react to God. We want to get it right. We want to do the right thing, always. And it is undeniable that this attitude takes some of the sheer “fun” out of life.

I don’t think this attitude is best, though I have been a part of it, too. God’s Kingdom would have a lightness in our bearing, not to take ourselves too seriously. Indeed, A Course in Miracles says that seriousness is “of the ego.” This little-quoted assertion from ACIM needs more attention.

How did we play as children? Some of that lightheartedness would serve us well now. Keep in mind that most people believe that Jesus is talking in this live channeling from Jayem. He himself stepped aside and knew of nothing that he was saying until he listened to the recording.

The Gospel of Judas, though not part of the canon of the New Testament, has Jesus “laughing” a lot! Can we see Jesus as a lighthearted figure? And he is our role model.

Let us have some fun today. Let us enjoy the day, not fret so much about getting it wrong.

Only Love Is Real

“You will know that you are totally free when you no longer feel any obstruction to whatever is arising in the field of your experience.  Why?  Because you will simply see it as another opportunity to say:

“Holy Spirit, what would you have me say?  What would you have me do?  What would it be like in this moment for me to simply realize that only Love is real?  (“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery, Chapter 20, Page 245)

“No longer feeling any obstruction” is “being willing to have it so.” Deepak Chopra says that this is the final stage of coming to know God, his Stage 7 as described in his book on knowing God.

The second paragraph, above, is a repetition, from Jesus, of words first given in A Course in Miracles. Jayem was channeling accurately from Jesus, because Jesus himself had asked him not to read ACIM prior to their own channeling of The Way of Mastery. Jesus does not forget what he has said. And Jesus would have us turn to the Holy Spirit (or the Christ-Self) as much as we can remember to do so.

“Only Love is real.” Yes! Everything else passes away, but Love remains. This is love from God, not from our brothers and sisters, but love from our brothers and sisters may seem to pass (even though love is eternal and never truly ends).

Ask God to join in a partnership today. Ask Him anything, and see what words come to mind or develop in written form. These words may very well be divine revelation, ready for the taking by just anyone at all. We don’t even have to be very advanced spiritually to hear God talking to us.

Suffering Need Not Be

“Suffering need not be.  The suffering with which you may yet be identified need not be.  It is only by choice that suffering is held in the mind.  And it is only by choice that it can be healed and released.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery, Chapter 18, Page 225)

Releasing on our sense of suffering takes embracing and then letting it go. Releasing, as described in this passage, is the heart and soul of the Sedona Method, an inspired method given by Lester Levinson, and having us ask ourselves about all my manner of things, “Could I let this go? Would I? When?”

In The Way of Mastery, our quotation for today, Jesus is telling us that our suffering is all so unnecessary. We get ourselves in quandaries by exacerbating the pain in our lives, increasing the pain so that it becomes suffering. Often the suffering is purely mental, though the pain may be physical.

Jesus is here to heal us of our emotional suffering.

If suffering finds a place in our heart, let’s ask Jesus to heal us today. When we choose to let it go, we will be free.

Join in Love

“Beloved friends, peace be unto you always, and always I am with you.  I come to you not alone, but with many who have delighted in creating a resonance with me, and I with them, for no other reason than that power expands exponentially when  minds join in love from a foundation of wholeness and not neediness.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” The Way of Mastery, Chapter 13, Page 168)

Jesus comes to us in The Way of Mastery by way of Jayem, who channeled “live,” and these three books of The Way of Mastery are the result.  Often in these books, Jesus stresses that he comes with others who join forces to help us all.  He calls his particular group, a very large group, simply “the lineage.”   Their work has been going on for a long, long time; their work is what led up to Jesus’ life 2000 years ago.

When we join with others, our power too is expanded, as Jesus says, “exponentially,” when we are joined in love.  We don’t join with others strictly out of our need, for we will soon come to know that we are whole beings residing in God.  We don’t have to look to others out of this neediness.  We join others because we come to love them.

Right after this passage, Jesus asserts that he and Mary, who are bonded together, do not join because they “need” each other.  He and Mary are joined in love and the result of a common purpose—to save us.  And we might also realize that there are many of us on earth who share that common purpose—though being finite and in physical bodies, we don’t know all that will be known in the cosmic realm.

Join with others of like mind (and heart—as A Course of Love says), if there is love as the overarching feeling.  When we let love lead the way, our ratio of mistakes to truth changes drastically.  We let go of many of our old ways, and walk into a new world being created even as we speak.

God Is Life

“The whole while, that very thought must use the power of the One.  For that power is Life!  That power is pure being!  That power is the real world!  That power is the only thing that exists—period!  By the power of That One, you have dreamt the thought of the separate self.  By the power of That One, when you decide to, you will awaken from the thought of egoic consciousness.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 16, Page 195)

“‘That One,’ in the work channeled by Jayem, The Way of Mastery, means the Essence of God that we share with the Godhead. So, in that sense, that we all partake of God, we do play a part in deciding when we awaken from egoic consciousness. The way in which this truth is given here, though, does seem counter to A Course in Miracles, which says that God makes the decision of when we Awaken. If we are part of God, though (something ACIM also says), then our own essence participates in this decision.

God is Life! This is another way of thinking of our Creator. A good way to wrap our minds and hearts around what we actually are. Since we are Life, and God is Life, we have more say in our doings than we think. God gives us this freedom to decide. There will come a time when we realize that we are beyond choice: We just LIVE! And then we are really cocooned in God’s love.

This quotation for today is a very freeing concept. If we put our minds and hearts to it, then we can remove the blocks to love more quickly, and thus hasten our union with God in Awakening.

A Drop of Milk

“Here, at this subtle level, the drop of milk has seemingly separated itself and now feels awareness of itself as separate from the body of milk.  And for a moment, for just a moment, there is pure joy, because it is still the One doing it—out of entertainment, out of pure play, out of the sheer exuberance of extending itself and its infinite power, ceaselessly and without limitation.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 16, Page 191)

In The Way of Mastery, believed to be channeled from Jesus by Jayem in live channeling, we see a comparison of the separation from God with a drop of milk that rises above the rest of the milk. The drop of milk has seemingly become separated, though it is still milk, and will fall back down in the glass momentarily.

We are like that. We thought ourselves separated from God, and we perched precariously away from Him. We thought the only way we could survive was to form an ego, a false self who would take care of us as God once did.

We didn’t do so well, being all alone and separate. And it was inevitable that we would one day fall back into God, just as the drop of milk returns to the rest of the milk in the glass.

Here Jesus emphasizes the “entertainment” value of what we did. So all is not lost. Our “play” will have a happy ending.

God understands play, our drama that seems so terrible while it is happening, at least part of the time. God is actually our being, playing hide-and-seek with Himself.

We don’t have to fret about the things that life shows us. We take it all so seriously, but there is divine play at work. We can be lighthearted and joyous, for God does not demand seriousness in our return to Him.

He wants us happy.

Awe & Mystery of Our Self

“I decided to be in relationship with the totality of my Self—mind, spirit, soul, emotion, body—with the same sense of awe and mystery that I felt when I looked upon the farthest of stars deep into the night on a quiet hillside.  And that changed everything.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 14, Page 175 – 176)

Jesus is speaking in this channeled work from Jayem.  Here Jesus says that he began to see his totality with awe and mystery.

We might do the same, for our spirit partakes of the same essence of God.  Jesus was onto something here.  If we think about ourselves as a mystery that we can’t fully comprehend, we will be led to turn to God for a resolution of that mystery.

Think about the wonder of our very Self today.  Let God speak to our heart about who we really are.

Unlimited, Unfettered, Unvictimized Living in This World

Note:  I will leave Choose Only Love for the moment, and return to The Way of Mastery in my blog posts.  I will return to Choose Only Love a little later on. – Celia

“You then, are Christ, playing in the world—unlimited, unfettered, unvictimized by anything. . . .You simply create the structure of your experience.”   (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 165)

Here we see that we are indeed creating our own reality, just as we heard in New Thought and in the New Age.  If we believe that Jayem channeled Jesus, and I believe he did, we have on the highest authority—Jesus himself—that we attract what happens to us by the focus to which we bring our consciousness.

This is how Jesus can be with us, any of us, at one and the same time.  He focuses his consciousness wherever he might wish.  This is indeed a reassuring concept.

So:  We are all—ALL—Christ, playing in our world.  We are not victimized by anything, because we always have the choice to change our minds about what we experience.  We are unlimited creations of God.  Our potential is therefore limitless.  A Course in Miracles talks about “limitless release” and it is this that we are confronting today in this blog post.  We have the right and the will to structure our experience in line with the will of God—or to avoid Him and choose to live by our own very limited ego.

I hope that all will choose the guidance of God and will follow His will for a glorious future—beginning today.  There is no better way to live.  Unlimited, unfettered, unvictimized. . . .

Ask Jesus for Help

“Therefore, if you would look upon another and say, ‘Oh, they can talk with Jeshua, but I could never do that,’ stop lying to yourself!  Rather, come to see that if this ability is being made manifest in your field of awareness, it is because you have called it to yourself as a reminder of what is already inherent within you.”  (“The Way of Transformation,” WOM, Chapter 13, Page 157)

Perhaps we can talk to Jeshua (Jesus), just like Jayem, who channeled The Way of Mastery.  I used to have a dialogue going, every morning, with my concept of Jesus.  Maybe I was making it all up, but maybe not.  Then Jesus seemed to disappear on me, and Jayem told me in an email that Jesus doesn’t want to foster dependence.

We can depend on God rather than discrete entities, however exalted these entities might be.  When we depend on God, we are turning to our inner essence, the part of us joined with our Maker.   Then we get right answers, always and forever, though it is always possible that we mislead ourselves.  So, we must practice the concept of discernment.  Is this thought something that will hurt another?  If so, then we can be sure that we are getting “help” from some egoic part of ourselves.

Try talking to Jesus today.  His foci of consciousness know no limits, and also he has plenty of helpers who stand ready to guide us.  Always they will turn us back to our inner essence, for nowhere is it suggested or recommended that we turn our power over to somebody else.

We are not bereft in this troubled world.  We have help.  Regardless of our situation, help is only an appeal away.

Speaking with Jesus

“Beloved friends, I come to where you choose to be. And if you would choose to open that place within the heart and within the mind in which you can communicate with me directly, I will meet you there as well.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Chapter 1, Page 2)

In The Way of Mastery (The Christ Mind Trilogy), Jesus, right at the beginning, encourages us to have a personal contact with him. This is how he channels to Jayem, a human being who allows his body to be used for channeling that is “live.”

We are unlikely to have Jesus ask us to step aside and speak as Jayem does. Our way is likely different from Jayem’s. But the direct relationship is still here and possible.
Perhaps we will write what Jesus prompts. Perhaps we will hear interior words (a “locution”) in our minds and hearts. It does not matter. The connection has been made, however it is made.

I myself felt Jesus’s presence for several months in my early morning writing. I started a dialogue with Jesus, with my speaking, and then his. But eventually I heard interior words one night while falling asleep. “You are trying to draw me in.” It seemed a rejoinder that I did not welcome. And beginning the next morning, the words that I had imagined from Jesus just dried up.

Jesus does not foster dependence. And that is what was happening with me. He says in A Course of Love that his ultimate goal is to set us back upon ourselves, upon the Christ-Self who will emerge from our depths. This is the link with God Himself/Herself.

In A Course in Miracles, after a few opening chapters, he set Helen and Bill (and therefore us) back on the Holy Spirit, for the past century was still the time of the Holy Spirit.

Trust Jesus in his dealings with us. He knows what he is about.

JAYEM COMMENTS ON CHANNELING

Note: Yesterday on this blog I concluded a consideration of the first four chapters of the annotated and complete edition of A Course in Miracles, the edition published by the Circle of Atonement. These first four chapters were the most changed from earlier editions of ACIM.

Today I begin a lengthy consideration of The Way of the Heart, the first part of The Way of Mastery (The Christ Mind Trilogy). Today’s posting is an introduction which features Jayem, who channeled the work.

Your comments are welcomed. – Celia

“My body is vibrating, pulsating. Finally, I am able to speak, or, I might say, stammer.

“ ‘Wh-What happened? There was this light, and then. . .’

“Silence. A long silence. No one has moved. Then, one by one, each rises. A few come to me and touch my leg, or my hand. But say nothing. In due time, everyone has left. I am still sitting in the chair, vibrating, pulsating in energy, with Kendra looking at me. That is when I notice the shining remains of tears on her cheeks. She speaks softly.

“ ‘He, He spoke. To each of us. One by one. Everything. Our lives. Lessons. Next steps, if we are willing. Things no one could know. His own life. I. . .I mean, no one said anything. We just listened. And it was palpable. You could cut it with a knife.’

“ ‘What?’ I manage to say.

“ ‘The, well, the presence, the, the love.’” (excerpt from The Jeshua Letters)

The year was 1987. The first time that Jayem channeled to a group of people, the first time, his friends.

The channeling would happen many more times, beginning in 1994, recorded, and sent to many people all around.   These recorded words are now available in print, a 417-page The Way of Mastery, a book of words from Jeshua (Jesus) that Jayem prefers to call The Christ Mind Trilogy (and is now published separately as The Way of the Heart, The Way of Transformation, and The Way of Knowing). The channeling did not stop with this, though, but in various forms is ongoing, even today. Jayem comments that he is getting “long of tooth,” aging, but Jesus still comes to tell more, to help others, to clarify for Jayem what might lead to greater understanding or to help another.

The initial encounter happened one “normal” morning, when Jayem was scurrying around his apartment, trying to get ready to go to work. A normal morning, like any other. Except that this was anything but normal. Jayem “heard,” “Sit, and meditate.” The Voice was unmistakable. He obeyed. And from this humble beginning was to come a wealth of material, over the years, that assures us that Jesus is still very much involved with our world, still very much cares what we are doing with it.

Listen to what Jayem says happened next, on that fateful July 20, 1987:

“As a pinprick of golden light materialized in the room, it grew brighter and I began to feel inundated with a high vibration of pure Love, He appeared out of it. I recoiled when I recognized Him, and He hesitated, UNTIL I softened, and opened. Then, He moved toward me, ever closer, until that vibration and Light was all, His eyes were all I could see, and then He poured through me.”

Jayem was stunned, as we can well imagine anyone would be. He reports that his internal chatter quieted down as he moved through his usual routine over the next few days. But nothing would ever be the same again. Fear surfaced from time to time, as Jayem sometimes felt he was off the “deep end,” but he simply followed instructions to take notes. This instruction to take notes is, as we know, what had happened with Helen Schucman (A Course in Miracles), and would later happen with Mari Perron (A Course of Love).

There developed for Jayem, though, direct channeling, in that his body was laid aside, rendering him oblivious to what was transpiring, while he channeled live. In other words, to be precise, Jesus took Jayem out of body, and then he (Jesus) entered it to teach directly. For those who want “proof” that it is actually Jesus, Jayem says that anyone who knows him (Jayem) knows “instantly” that there is a whole different level of vibration/mastery, use of language, etc., when Jesus is operating via his body-mind.

Direct channeling is different from what happened with Helen and Mari. They heard the impression of an interior voice, and they were conscious of their writing while receiving from Jesus. And the purposes are somewhat different. A Course in Miracles was given to dislodge the ego; A Course of Love was given to establish a new identity. For work with Jayem, Jesus said that he (Jesus) was creating a “PathWay” never done on earth before, to support anyone from the first inkling to awaken all the way into Christ Mind. In other words, Jesus is trying to take us all into Christ-consciousness.

Jayem describes Jesus in the following ways: patient; soft, yet a softness suffused with great strength; humorous; playful; capable; never wasting a moment; never “speaking just to speak”; unshakeable in full knowledge of the whole journey of Christing, meeting the student in the sphere they are in, and fully in charge. Jayem says that Jesus can “call you out” with skill and love when one is on the wrong track, leading one to simply reply “thank you.”

When I asked Jayem if there had been profound alterations in his life since the channeling began, he responded vibrantly in the following way:

“Yikes! ALL of it! Not one stone remains of anything before (one many levels); not one trace of how I saw things, thought, nor used time for ‘B.J’” (before Jeshua!). And it’s ongoing, a ceaseless unfolding/birthing; there is no finality in God’s creation, nor our capacity to surrender, attune, and flow IN it. I know what it means to live with ‘no plan of my own’ AND what it is to yet again struggle against the next steps and try to impose my own, knowing it will fail! Still some parts of me think that I can joust and negotiate, as if “I” have a life that is ‘mine’!”
We can see that Jayem is very human in his reactions to what has transformed his life—and ours, if we become students of the PathWay that Jesus is developing.

Jayem is very aware of the part that skepticism plays in the way we react to his claims about channeling Jesus. He suggests that we honor, relax, and just accept being skeptical, if that is our stance. He says to notice if the skepticism leads to quick conclusions or defenses as mind tries to close the door. Is fear dictating how one responds? He continues:

“IF it is true that God is Love, and that the Holy Spirit is available, and IF Jayem or The Way of Mastery have appeared in their lives, MAYBE it’s for a reason in His Plan.”
We might stay in wonder, curious, playful, open, something that will do no harm whatsoever.

“He will be there with you. What isn’t helpful for you, He will not lead you to.”

Jayem concludes:

“It is true. He does ‘stand at the door and knock.’ Spirituality is the deeply transformational process of opening that door, again and again, meeting our hidden fears, pet belies, etc., along the way, KNOWING he knows how to take us Home to the Kingdom.”

We need, therefore, to keep an open mind. If we believe that Jesus is still present in our world, our next step in believing is that he sees the need, still, to point out our best way, our best experiences. The Way of Mastery or The Christ Mind Trilogy thus does seek to move all of us to Christ-consciousness.
And when we keep an open and loving mind and hear to Jesus’ channeled messages, that is exactly where we will head.

Sooner rather than later.

In Times of Temptation

“Child of God, you were created to create the good, the beautiful, and the holy. Do not lose sight of this. Invite me to enter anywhere temptation arises.” (ACIM, COA ed., T-1.46.7:1-3)

“The good, the beautiful, and the holy.” This phrase antedates The Way of Mastery, and these words reappear in this later channeling. The one who channeled (and continues to channel) Jesus, Jayem, emailed me that Jesus had prevented him from reading A Course in Miracles, a directive, as it were. So Jesus himself is responsible for this turn of phrase.

What does this beautiful phrase actually mean? It is what we are to be about in this world. And in changing this world, and, ultimately, in creating a new world. The words are actually synonymous, though we recognize that there are differences among the words. May we listen to Jesus today, and do what we can to lead a beautiful life while carrying out his instructions to create the “good, the beautiful, and the holy.”

If we sense that we are about to take the wrong turn, let us turn to our leader, Jesus, to refrain from allowing temptation to have its way with us. None of us are above temptation. Actually it is the last vestiges of the ego in ourselves. The ego is one way to look at the hated and feared “devil.” The ego does not mean us well. Historically and traditionally, we have seen the devil as the tempter.

Jesus at this point in A Course in Miracles is taking upon himself the role that will later be assumed by the Holy Spirit, and, later still, the Christ-Self. He is telling Helen and Bill, and, by extension, us, to turn to an epitome of good (in himself) to withstand the wily ways of temptation.

We know when we are being tempted. There will be a little excitement, and a sense of not being able to stop ourselves from moving forward. But we will have an uneasy feeling, and all will not be well.

Turn to our companion and guide, Jesus, at such times. Let the good, beautiful, and holy envelop us.

And all will be well.
