Awareness Gives Us the Choice of What to Experience

“Awareness is all that you have and all that you are. Out of your use of it, comes all that you choose to experience. And out of that comes your decision of how you will experience what you have called to yourself.” (“The Way of the Heart,” WOM, Lesson 8, Page 98)

Jesus here gives us a complicated short passage. The basic idea is that awareness is our lease on life, the way that we call to ourselves all that we experience. It is what we have in our awareness, what we are aware of, that determines what we see.

So we have some choice in the matter, of course. We can purify our awareness, looking for the positive, and in so doing, we will reap great rewards. Our experiences will improve in tone, our mood will be higher, and we will see a beautiful world, rather than one that we would discount as being harsh and unkind to us.

This is another of Jesus’ reminders that we create our own reality. It is very hard, though, to pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and “force” ourselves to be positive, when we are feeling down. The best way to approach life is to “be willing to have it so,” even our negative moods. Don’t resist them, for resistance makes the negativity stronger and less likely to dissipate. Resistance cements in place, and we would not do that.

Just go with the flow, which is another way of saying “be willing to have it so.” Just accept that in this world, our moods will vary as does the weather.

We can move with the tide, or we can buck it—or attempt to do so. And bucking it never, ever works.

Be gentle with our emotions, always and forever. We won’t experience perfection in this world, though we will ease into constant joyousness when we discover how to ride out the rough spots, move into the grand ones.

The World Will Change

Note: On another blog, “Sonnets Love & Divine,” I am beginning a series of divine sonnets, poems to God. The first of three, written, has been posted so far. I am drawing from A Course in Miracles, A Course of Love, and The Way of Mastery.

“I have said to you many times that the world you see is nothing more than the effect of the thoughts you have held within the mind. Therefore, awakening requires the act of vigilance and discipline. The discipline to cultivate a way of living in which you observe your own thoughts, in which you listen to the words that are coming out of your mouth, in which you observe the feelings that are evoked within your body, the reactivity that seems to own you, and to see these things as innocent and simply self-caused.” (WOM, Chapter 3, Page 29)

We are innocent creations of God, and when we realize that we are self-creating our world, we will have taken a step in the right direction toward Awakening.

We often react to the world as if it were doing things to us. But it does nothing that we have not first instigated. And the nothing that is the world will blossom into something much grander when we have realized that we are creating what we see.

This can be scary. Who really wants to believe that we create our own reality? Frightening in implications, isn’t it?

But it is true, a New Age truth that has come of age in Jesus’ new channeled writing.

We need to do a little self-monitoring, nothing what we are saying, and in that noting, to realize that we can feel better when we choose our words more carefully.

Our thoughts are creating what we experience. Thought always creates form on some level; there is no exception. This is how we have built up our world. Each invention that has smoothed our way in the world began with a thought.

And then that thought manifested.

Everyday reality is no different from our scientific advances. All have come about because we first thought it.
If we don’t like what we see, we need only change our thoughts.

The world will change automatically.

We Create Our Own Reality

“This is your world and your experience. This is your life and your expe¬rience of life. Now you must believe that you are its creator and powerful in your relationship to it.

“If you do not make real your power, you will experience yourself as powerless. If you experience your being as powerless, you are negating the power of God who is one in being with you.” (ACOL, D:Day34.6 – Day34.7)

WE are the creator of our experience, we make our own reality. This is a favorite maxim of New Age thinking, and here Jesus gives this maxim his stamp of approval.

We don’t create the world that we truly want if we are thinking and feeling negativity all the time. The Powers that be will think that this is what we want—more negativity. So when we lift up our thoughts and feelings to a new high, powerful in its implications, we reap improved benefits. God knows that we are aiming for the highest that He can give us, and He gives us this highest truly.

We don’t need to be afraid of power. Turned to the right ends, it is a blessing, good in its entirety. Power has gotten a bad rap because when formed by the ego, we used it for manipulative ends. We are beyond this now. We use the good implications of our power, true and good. We are ever increasing our good in the world when we listen to power that is based in God’s blessing.

It is a powerful concept to know and to act on the truth that we create our own reality. If we keep positive, we can change our world/create a new world in line with the best that is known of God. He wishes us well; if we wish well for ourselves, other people, and even God Himself, we will be on the right pathway.

Dear God,

I wish to keep positivity going in my life. I wish to enhance the good in my life. Everyone feels this way, but not all of us know how to achieve these ends. I have found that keeping good thoughts and feelings going in my psyche works to improve my life. This is the law of attraction in operation.

Thank You for guiding me so precisely. Your way is effortless when it is rightly applied to my life. No sacrifices, no pain, no suffering—just peace, harmony, and joy abundant.

Amen.
