The Refuge

Note:  I’m beginning a year’s long unit entitled “Words from Jesus & Mary Soothe the Spirit.”  I will use the familiar format in this blog of a quotation, followed by a brief meditation.

In soothing the spirit, we are also thereby strengthening the psyche (mind and heart), but a psyche that has given up the ego in favor of direct relationship with God.

The books to be used have recently been published by Take Heart Publications, Glenn Hovemann, publisher.  Most of the books were received by Sebastian Blaksley.  All can be found in both print and ebook formats on Amazon.  You can find more information about the full titles on the “about” section of this blog.

“There is a refuge in creation, in the created universe.  That refuge is the threshold of essence and is essence itself.  It is beauty, formless, and multi-formed.  It is colorless and at the same time full of nuances as if it were a color palette with which a rainbow is painted.  That refuge of light, of beauty, of fulfillment, or union is all life. . . .All creation is created within this shelter. . . .Within this shelter all security is given and cannot be threatened by anything or anyone.”  CHOL, bk.1, 1:I.

These beautiful words are found early in Choose Only Love:  Echoes of Holiness.  There are paradoxes here, for we sometimes do not feel the beauty of Earth, and we certainly haven’t always sensed security that “cannot be threatened by anything or anyone.”

Yet as we walk the pathway of life, we do sense revelations that will change our viewpoint.  Revelation comes from God Himself, our Creator (who is actually genderless, but for now we will use the familiar masculine terminology).  When we need help, we need only remember that we are not alone in a friendless universe.  Quite the contrary.

We are sheltered by the mantle of God.  We need only give up our obstinate self-will–informed by the ego–to realize that when we seek guidance, we receive it.  This guidance, these revelations, show us the way on a smooth pathway back to direct relationship with our Creator.

Thus, deep inside us, God is waiting, patiently, for us to freely choose union with Him again.   Separation from God is healed, and we are truly secure and “cannot be threatened by anything or anyone.”
