Joyous Challenges

“Pass on no more of the prevailing learned wisdom. I told you once we would create a new language and thus we shall! We are creators of the new and we must start somewhere. Why not here?

“Think and speak no more of the suffering of the past. Spread the joyous news! Tell only joyous stories. Advance the idea of joyous challenges that allow for all the creativity you have put into challenges of the past but without the struggle. Let not the idea of struggle take hold in the new. Let not the idea of fear take hold in the new. Let not the idea of judgment take hold in the new. Announce far and wide freedom from the old ideas, the learned wisdom of old. What could be more invigorating, more challenging, more stimulating to your enrichment, than throwing out the old and begin¬ning again? And doing so without effort, without struggle. What could be more looked forward to than the chance to create the new through sharing in unity and relationship with your brothers and sisters in Christ?” (ACOL, T4:12.17 – 12.18)

We are in a new era, learning in a new way. And the quotation for today just sound joyous to read it! We will listen to guidance from within, the guidance that comes from the Christ-Self, the part of God who dwells within. This guidance will take us forward into a new time. It will tell us what to do to create a new world, for Jesus is never specific in A Course of Love. He never tries to be proscriptive; he is letting us listen to our own interpretations of truth, of true reality, and not trying to influence any and all guidance that each of us receives personally.

This is an important point, that Jesus is not trying to influence what we think. He is certain, and reassured, that God will take us by the hand and lead us into a new world of our own creation. Jesus says in The Way of Mastery that he just put his mind to the task of atonement, intended that, and then let the movement of what would happen come about. Jesus knows that there are forces even beyond him. God is that Force. And we are well to realize that we are one with God.

Listen to our internal guidance today, and every day. If we listen well, we will never be misled. Allow the thoughts and feelings to come to the surface, being certain to let the heart influence the mind. We are beyond the ego now, and it behooves us to let a new way of reacting take over.

Our heart, one with the All, and all of our brothers and sisters, will guide us surely. And we would have it no other way. No struggle, just peace.

Prayer

I would cease useless struggle today. I would know, always, that when I turn within, to You, I am made peaceful. Calmness steals over me, and I know that all is well. Thank You for this new way of living. Thank You for Jesus’s guidance.

Be with me today, to walk into a new future that will be unlike the past, keeping only what was good and true from the past. Thank You for providing me with the solace, always, that I need. And thank You for the guidance from my Self that solves any and all problems, even at the point of recognizing those problems.
